I think its a matter of what you can afford. My vote goes to Parasound. I'm sure any of the listed would do the trick. Better to look in the 200 watt range IMO for the LSi's.

Is 200 watts in the 4 ohm ok or 200 watts into 8 ohms? Do the parasound halo or numbered make a significant sound quality difference? I do not want to spend any more than necessary but, i do not want to miss anything either. That is movies or music. I have one theater with all adcoms and klipsch lexicon processor but it sounds like the highs are reduced too much.

I'm sure there is a difference between the Halo, HCA's or numbered series. How much i can't personally say. Usually good deals can be had for used HCA's. Would recomend 200@8ohms.

OK now that I have roughly the power range I need to be in without sending huge amounts of cash what amps do lsi's produce the best sound with for mids and highs? Clarity might be a for way to describe what I like. These sound great with the Yamaha but I need more current.

How do the outlaw emotiva brands stack up as far as the lsi's are concerned? This is going to be used for surround but I am going to use it primarily for music.

I've only heard the 15's with a Parasound HCA1500a. My amp with a friends speakers just to let him hear the difference. He was a little more than sad when i went home with my amp. Sounded clear to me compared to the Onkyo reciever he was useing. 708 i think.

Ha ha ha I bet he was sad. Does thx make a difference i have thx now and the music through that system is not as i would like it. I have another question all of my equipment was used in my main system. Would parasounds be reliable to buy used? My adcoms were the only pieces i had to have repaired and the mono blocks still need another overhaul.

I bought mine used with no problems from ebay. Depends on the seller. I think there's a few in FS section here. I doubt the thx brand makes a difference in power amps.

I have used Parasound, Adcom, and Emotiva amps to run my Lsi-15's. Personally, I would rank them as follows:
    1. Emotiva
    2. Parasound
    3. Adcom
Emotiva does not have many fans on this forum, but I ranked the Emotiva higher based on 2 factors. The most important to me being price, and the next being warranty. Sonically I found the Emotiva Xpa5 & the Parasound Hca-2205a to be very similar. The Adcom, while powerful, sounded harsh. Just my opinion....
LIVING ROOM: Pioneer PDP-6070HD, Pioneer Elite SC-25, Pioneer Elite BDP-05FD,
Emotiva XPA-5, Emotiva USP-1, Polk LSI15's, Polk LSiC, Velodyne 12", Mirage Nanosat Prestige rears, MIT AVT Speaker Cables, Audioquest King Cobra Interconnects, Panamax M5300pm Surge Protection/ Power Conditioning
BEDROOM: VIZIO 32" LCD, Pioneer Elite VSX-23txh, Pioneer Elite BDP-23FD, Parasound HCA-2205A, Mirage Nanosat Prestige Speakers 5.1, Mirage S8 Sub, Monoprice cables, APC Surge Protection.

Interesting i am serious about the cash but i usually have to live with my mistakes. I am glad to see someone has enjoyed the emotiva. I hope i can get some input with outlaw also. I need to run this for 2 sets of lsi15's 1 set lsifx 1lsic. I will need 7 channels of amps so price plays a part. I would like to get the most detail though. Please keep the information flowing. If I have missed something or some brand i would be glad to know I have not bought an amp in many years. Thanks for the help.

As i'm sure you've heard before, it depends on your budget(or how much are you willing to spend). Personally i would go with parasound.

I took your advice tankman and got the parasound. I can at least see if this is the direction i want to go. Before dropping the cash for 7 channels.

I hope I am. It is terrible to be in a small town with no audio stores but best buy. I have to take my chances a lot. We don't have real audio stores within 300 miles.

Lol i know it well. You still have it better than me. You have trees! I understand that is what i have to do most of the time. One time i carried a huge klipsch center channel in the pilots locker just to get it back home.

Any suggestions on cables that are snug but not horribly tight? I bought one to connect the sub and almost pushed the receivers connection through the back trying to get the cable plugged in.
