Speakers are
rti a5's
csi a6
fxi a6's
dsw pro 600

I've been playing around with the mcacc and It's setting my fxi a6's -8.5 db on 125hz(kinda drastic)

I have the fxi a6's in dipole mode on the side walls with sofa in the null. I put the mic on the end of a short broom handle shoved in the cushins above ear lvl slightly to get over the back rest.

You guys think they are set correctly?

Also using dipole's do i want to use phase control

I have tried the MACC on my SC05 and the Audyssey on the 805 ( a while back). All my front speakers are ( were on the 805) set @ -8/10 db except for the Rear channels (-4/5db).

I have tried a few times but the outcome pretty much within 1/2 db error. I would recommend leave your MACC setting as is but going to manual setting and choose speaker level option , use the RadioShack SLP meter to set the speaker levels well let's say within 75/85 bd / C weight. Do not change any other setting such as distance or Xcurve...then you will be fine.

Do not know much abt your AVR but my SC05 has abt 5/6 different setting for the MACC. I use different setting for diffrent session of listening, music vs movies playback.

did your spl meter/manual settings differ from what mcacc came up with? If so about how many db? I've read that the mcacc is pretty accurate, donno if i wanna go buy a spl meter. If you say it came up with different results and it was an improvement I might consider goin that route.

It's a good idea to buy one and keep the receipt, if you for any reason are not "satisfied ", you always can get your money back but it's ideal to have one on hands.

The answer is yes and no. I have forgot the variation between the MACC and the manul settings. Some speakers I do have to adjust some do not even though all 7 of mine are the same speakers but not very a big variation.

Are you concerning about that you have to crank the master volume higher than with the manufacture setting? If it is the case, do not pay attention to it. The master volume dialing has no thing to do with the sound quality. Just crank it up. Small room, I guess?

Yesterday, I listened a CD to my BDP05 thru 2 channel analog, it sounded wonderful when I switch the CD over to the BDP95 bluray using HDMI, it sounded will harsh and skinny. Accidently, I switch to streamdirect and It sounded awesome. Do not what the heck I do but i like stream direct now.

Hope some others pro will chime in to help you out. I would not concern abt the master volume has to be dialed at higher level though.
