    Thumbs up Star Trek

Scored another DVD early. Been patiently waiting for this to be released. I enjoyed it more in the theater, but still great on the HT. The LFE was most impressive with this one. Even on my lowly Yamaha subwoofer this movie thumped. I had to actually tone it down a little for my mother-in-law because the bass digs so deep. :o

Picture quality is always good on my player...Most that saw it in theaters know the SFX and visuals were good. Surround effects on my system were terrific with lots of stuff wizzing by the ears. I think audio on the DVD is suitable for standard reference and showing off your systems, but I'm eager to hear what you blu-ray guys have to add. I'm going to be buying this for my library of course and just might pick it up on blu also. 5 out of 5 IMO.

Bought the standard dvd, looks great stretched out to 85" across my living room wall, the SurroundBar 360 does a good job, I've seen it 3 times in the theaters and a few times at home already. I don't own a Blu-Ray player and my projectors's highest video connection is component or dvi, not sure if I would be any better than standard dvd.

But, I really LOVE this movie, JJ did an Awesome job, I can't wait for part II

It is released? I pre-ordered it on Amazon, but have not received a notice it has been shipped. I have been waiting for this since the movie first came out. If I knew they were going to wait this long to release the DVD I would have went to the movie. Anyway, this is one of the reasons why I bought my Oppo BluRay player, so I am really wound up waiting for this thing. I am so tired of rebuying DVDs in BR, and need something new.

It was rated a percect 5 out of 5 on blu-ray.com in every category - visuals, audio, movie, and suppliments. I did not see it in the theatre, but am a fan of Star Trek. This is an easy blind buy for me!

Joe, Transformers 2, The Hangover, Up, Pelham 1 2 3, Terminator 2, 3, 4, all the American pie's and Shrek 2. Man I need to go to amazon or see what is on black Friday.

    But yes great movie.

I spun the DVD of this a week ago. Fantastic sound! Can't wait to get the BD on Tuesday so I can play it loud as hell on my new AVR. Not sure the height channels will matter for this... but I'm gonna find out!

I'm pretty envious...because not only did I not see this film in a theater...I saw it on a tiny LCD screen on the TransPacific flight the first time...

Now I'm on the other side here...and this stuff is being issued here as well...but I'll have to wait another 8 months or so until I can 'really' see it on a system...

For now it's a 20" Haier Direct Tube set..my Dell Latitude and a 20 dollar 2.1 PC speaker system...how's that for LOW END!!!

I can only 'imagine' what the SOUND on this disc is like...

I saw this one in an IMAX theater. Very cool. I have it on pre-order.

That's fantastic news. Saw this twice in the theater, the Blu-ray cannot come fast enough.

Just watched the rental again before returning tomorrow....I pre-ordered a blu-ray copy even though my audio isn't optimized for it.

I'm not sure, but does this 3 disc blu-ray also include a SD DVD copy of the movie as well?

Got my BD copy this afternoon, via Amazon (guaranteed release date delivery, in this case: -1). WTG, A!
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I have had this in 1080p for about a week and still have not watched it all the way through! I am waiting on my sub to come on Wednesday, then I can truly enjoy the movie... Saw it in the theater and it was good, but the theater I saw it at had only mediocre sound.
