    Default Polk Audio SDA speakers

I got a pair of polk audio SDA speakers from a friend the other day and I am wondering what model they are. There are a few pictures attached of them. Anybody know? - It is the camera lens that has the smudges, not the grilles

With friends like that... you have true friends.

    Very nice.

I'm not an SDA guy, but one of them will chime in shortly.

    Welcome to CP!

Definitely original SDA-2's with Dimensional tweeters.

Those are the SL-2000 tweeters as well.

The 2A's and 2B's both have dual MW's and single tweeters.

Yes SDA 2's. My bad...I didn't look at horizontal pics. It hurts my neck... I assumed there were 4 MW's.

I have a Yamaha RX-596 which puts out 80 watts a channel with about .0197% that I might use or I also have a NAD 705 which I think just puts out 40 watts, but has around 100 watts of dynamic power. I tried both and they both sound great with them. What do you recommend?

The NAD is 4 ohm stable. The Yamaha is 6 ohm stable but it seems to have no problem with them. I have ran the Yamaha for hours at a time with them and there is no distortion and there isn't too much heat. Also, on the back of my NAD receiver there is a switch that says "soft clipping". What does it do? Should I keep it on or off?

I had a nad receiver back in the 80's. don't remember which model but it sure was a little powerhouse. don't know what the soft clipping switch is, I'm sure someone here does. you could probably pull it up on nads site too
