    Default RTi A3 speaker stands

I am setting up my system and will be wall mounting my 46" LCD TV. I have been deciding between either wall mounting my RTI A3's or putting them on stands. I am leaning toward stands so that I can have more flexibility with positioning the speakers, but I need some advice on which stands and where to buy them. The RTI A3's are black.

If you have the room and flexibility, I'd say go with the stands, as you'll have more options for positioning the A3s.

You can have the A3s wall mounted - I just put up a set on my front wall using the BTech BT-77 wall mounts - however, because of the curved cabinets I had to supplement the mounting with some zip ties from the rear power port to the wall mounts to make sure they stayed put.

Putting them on stands would allow you to find the sweet spot for the rear facing power ports.

Having them wall mounted does mean a closer proximity of the power port to the wall and so creates some more effort in avr settings to 'tame' any boominess.

Good luck in finding stands that have large top bases - there aren't many in the market that I could find when I considered stands. You could maybe strap the speakers to the stands or clamp or screw the base to the speakers somehow??

Why...as a matter of fact.... I have a nice pair of 30" Sanus Natural Foundation stands...in black...that I have up for sale!!

+1 for stands. I am using speaker stands with a 6" top base and they work great. If I had pets I wouldn't use speaker stands.

Well, I do have a cat, but I am leaning toward getting some stands. I think if I fill the stands with shot that there won't be as much of a chance of them tipping over as there would be without. Also, the more I look at the RTI A3's I am thinking they may overtake the wall if I mount them.

Hate to bump a year old thread but i am looking to get some stands for my A3's as well. I looked around at places for just some small tables to sit them on but everything that liked was a little more that i wanted to spend. I am now looking at stands for them. Here is one that i have found and was wanting opinions on them. The A3's are black just so u know. I also would like to stay in the ~$50 range if i could.

I am trying to get the largest base i can since he A3's are on the large side. This one has a base that is 8x8. I have a 3yr old and a dog running around so i would like for them to be sturdy. I can add shot (?) to stands to make them sturdier? These would be for the rear surrounds and placed in a corner of the room so they should be out of the way.

I have also thought about buying 2 center speaker stands since they are normally larger. Any disadvantages with this idea.Something like these.

    Thanks everyone.
