The price may be a bit higher than usual...but it's still a fair price. Those look like they're in excellent condition.

I've been noticing this too...

With the updated tweets, that is a more than fair price. Those are fine speakers. (they don't make them anymore, either.) Sooner or later the supply will dry up as they find permanent homes.

Joe, Yours were in mint conditionn when you picked them up and these are close to that. It'd be nice to see larger photos so that you can see the condition of the drivers, it looks like that some of the dust caps are pushed in, But they may not be, it could just be the shadow

I paid $1158 for mine but they needed around $600 to get them to look like these that are forsale now. So the price is pretty damn close to what I spent. But then I upgraded the wood and crossovers which added around $900 more.

Polyswitches don't detect clipping, they respond to current. An overdriven 50W amplifier could fry the tweeters in a second, and they could still pass the "gently used" test by most reasonable definitions.
