    Default Onkyo 605 & Polk Rti8?

Anyone have experience with these two devices? I'll be getting two rti8s for my fronts and was wondering any tips/help for settings on the receiver.

    My future setup:

    Receiver - Onkyo 605
    Center - Polk CSi25
    Fronts - Polk RTi8
    Sub - Dayton SUB-120 12" 150 Watt
Rears - Either use my old fronts (Polk R50s) or some test ones I got (tSc Dipoles)

I'm not familar with the Onkyo, but I think you'll be very satisfied with the Rti8's. Mine are set to "Small" with sub crossed over at 80hz. The 8's have great sound, but lack bass, so the sub integration will be important. I've had my 8's for over a year now and they're great. Enjoy!!!

You made a good choice, the RTi's are great speakers. I love my A5's, they're the newer version of your 8's. The Onkyo is a very capable receiver and should be fine for your Polk's. I keep my PSW650 crossed at about 80hz as well and it blends nicely with the A5's. Welcome to the Club and enjoy your new Polks.

This is probably a question for next Christmas ;) , but for a 3.1 setup, what's my weakest link in my setup? Should I look at upgrading the center or the sub? Hopefully not the receiver since I can't afford a new one of those! :P

Easily, I would say the sub, Daytons are ok, but they're entry level at best.

I will be running my RTi8s with an Onkyo 507 when the new media center arrives. it seems like most here agree that the RTi8 are pretty darn good speakers and there should be no problems with your set up-or mine.
Good luck and welcome to the club!!

I was running my RTi8's through my Onkyo 706 and it sounded fine.

They sounded great when I added a separate amp!

Set-up is a breeze though. Just run audyssey, you're pretty much good to go.

A lot of people recommend setting the crossovers on the RTi8's to 80hz....I run mine full band. I have a large room with my sub sitting nearfield. The fronts seem to integrate better with the sub this way.

Regarding this, cpals how do you like the dayton sub? I have always been tempted by their cheap prices, and I've always wanted the 15" kit that they have for just under $300, but other than reviews never heard much about the brand
