    Default Internal Hock-up wire

    I have some un-used speaker wires around. Don't know it is suitable for the replacement of stock internal wires of Monitor 5.
    It is marked " Denko Professional speaker cable > High Purity Copper> 2x120/0.12mm > Tinned + Untinned > Perfect Link for Audio"

    What is the awg value?

    Looks like the stuff is going to turn green soon! Upgrading the internal wiring would never hurt, but I don't know if you want to use that stuff. At least cut the ends, strip off some new ends and solder the ends to whatever plugs are on the factory speakers. Kind of alot of work but maybe someone will correct me and say it's definitely worth the effort.

    Btw, when I mean "plugs" I mean those little adapters on the end of the internal wiring that connects to your drivers.

    I believe 2.0mm=12ga.

    If you use that wire, I would heat shrink the end. As Freddy mentioned, that kind of wire is susceptible to oxidation.

    Which wire should be connected to the positive? Is the untinned wire (copper colour)? The hole at PCB seems not big enough for the wire to pass through. Do I need to enlarge it or just solder on top of the PCB? Thanks:)

    Tinned and PVC insulation are bad. Look for some Audio Quest 14/2 in wall rated wire.

    15.5 is fine. I hope you have a soldering pot or a really hot iron, Cardas can be difficult to work with.

    15.5 AWG for both tweeters and drivers I only have 30W and 60W hot iron. Which one is suitable?

    The Auri only provides 18 and 21 AWG hock-up wires. Are they good enough for the tweeters and drivers respectively

    Your 60w may not be hot enough for Cardas, the 18ga Auri should work fine.
