Default Pioneer SC-07 in stereo - no bass from SW

Help... I love this receiver, but I'm not sure how much it loves me.

I've looked over the manual... I'm sure what I'm looking for is in there... Just not in plain enough English for me.

I've never really used my home theater setup for listening to cd's... but now I want to.

I think I've switched it to every mode possible and I just can't get my subwoofer to play... and the couple of times that I have gotten it to play, it plays very weak... Even at full volume.

But it puts out super bass when watching movies, etc...

My setup is in my signature... Please help. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

it might depend on how you set it up... my yamaha when played in pure direct does not send a signal to my sub and plays in two channel only.. but i'm not sure how that works on the pioneer.

Do you have a separate CD player hooked up? If so, is it outputting analog or digital?

Are your speakers set to "small" in setup? If not, you will probably not get subwoofer output with 2 Ch signal.

With the Pioneer SC07, in the Speaker setting, if you have any of the speakers set to "Large", set the Subwoofer SW to "Plus". The Pioneer SC07 is a marvelous AVR, I have yet to tap all of it's potential.

I see that Kmart has Adcom for great price. In the New Year, I'm going to get an Adcom amp for an Emotiva vs Adcom showdown with the LSi's.

I say get the GFA 5802 used, for me it killed the XPA-2 you may have different findings. I still run the XPA-3 in my HT.

Well right now I have the Beatles playing in stereo with a XPA3 amp, (Pioneer PD-F1009 CD and Pioneer VSX-1018AH set to PCM direct) and two LSi15's and two PSW505's stacked. Simply Awesome.

Thanks for all of the help... The simple fix was to just set the SW to plus... my fronts and center are set to Large. That got it to start working.

When you say "stacked" I'm assuming that you mean you are coming right off of the subwoofer output with a splitter and just running to separate SW wires?
Sorry, I'm a little new to the whole Home Theater setup. But I want to run another sub as well...
