Advice?add a sub to stock radio&new speakers

I want to keep my stock head unit.

So I decided on installing new DB651's in the front and rear doors as they should work pretty good and barely fit. And I want to add a sub in the back to run off the stock head unit too. I have speaker level outputs only.

Can I run my speaker wires in parallel ( run the speakers and connect the same circuit to the amp) with high level inputs into the amp for a sub and not lose the stock head unit power to the speakers?

Or will connecting speaker level inputs from the existing speaker wire to the amp "suck the power" out of the speaker leads and kill or reduce the DB651 sound?

Should I be looking at an amp with high pass filters?

2003 Subaru Outback= can fit replacement DB651s in frt + rear doors, want to add some bass in the back side panel. The stock "premium" subaru headunit should push the DB651s ok, and it has AM/FM/6CD changer and Weatherband- I want to keep the weatherband.

I don't know your budget but heres what I would do:

If the stock speakers aren't blown then I would leave the rear speakers in and not mess with them. I would save the money on the replacements and maybe look into stepping up to the mm line for the fronts.

For an amp I would look at a decent 4 channel amp, something like the alpine mrp-f300. Use the line out for the front speakers, leave the rears hooked up through the stock head unit. With a 4 ch amp, you can power the front speakers with the front 2 channels and power a sub by bridging the rear 2 channels.

Your speakers would be getting at least 50-75 watts, and the sub would get 150 watts. Unless you already have a power-hungry sub, this should be enough to get what youre looking for.

Fade to the front when nobody is in the back seat. If you do have rear passengers, then give the rears a bit of sound back. Honestly, if youre amping the front speakers, they should put out enough sound that nobody will ever know the rears arent on.

To answer your original question, no it won't effect how much power your speakers receive.

However, the advice given by DSkip is right on and would sound better than what you intend to do.
