My local Walmart sells that crap. Probably some of the worst jerky I've tasted. Dirt cheap and imported from Brazil. Don't they sell real jerky in you're area?

I'm a jerky fan and this is the best I've ever tasted Here. I like them because the jerky is soft not hard and thick, but the flavor is the best.

Guy I know who is a statistics prof eats no meat but wild venision or turkey, etc he has brought down himself. He makes jerky from some of that, and it is as natural as it gets. If I still ate red meat, I'd be all over venison.

I'm not gonna believe it until there is a scientific double blind test performed. Just 'cause you say it's better, does that mean it's better? I'm gonna Google Roger Russell right now because he's my hero.

Lasereath, this jerkey is very good. My favorite is the hot pepper one! I like it because it's not too sweet like most beef jerkeys are. I ususally get turkey jerkey because it's not usually as sweet (at least the brand I buy). Thanks for the reminder about this great jerkey, it's been a while since I've had it!

Once you have fresh Beef Jerky from a good butcher shop you'll never go back to the packaged stuff that's loaded with preservatives that make it taste weird ever again. A place right down the street from me makes great jerky and the Landjäger is even better.

It's so depressing that you have to call to order that jerky you like, I wish I can just do it on their website.

Maybe I'll call next week and order a few pounds to try it out.

Alton Brown on the Food Network has a recipe where he uses a fan and pleated air filters to make your own beef jerkey. I've seen the episode and it looks pretty interesting.

    Laserath,

While it's not the season now, next deer season take a drive upstate. You'll be able to find plenty of good venison jerky at the butcher shops in the small towns. Good and fresh.

You might also see what is offered North of the Border if you ever travle there. Last time I was in Canada I got some really good, locally processed moose jerky. It was great.

Thanks Joe, I used to own a food dehydrater and I made my own a couple of times. But it's like acoustic panels, sometimes you just want to buy somebody else's instead of making your own.

Here's a cool Video on making Deer Jerky:

What the hell were they doing operating on a 91 year old man. Unless he had something really life threatening going on, that's unheard of.
