The Bush and Clinton families have always gotten along well too as far as I remember.
Presidents from different parties have often been friends and can work together.
Carter and Ford were a good example of this friendship.

Ex-Presidents are a pretty special club.

You forgot they did, when they repealed the Glass-Steagall act and instituted the Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act in the 90's to deregulate banking.
This was one of the reasons for our financial crisis.
