Looking to purchase Rti 12's

Hello,

I am looking to put together a new home theater 9.1 channel surround system. I was looking to purchase the RTI A9's, but I found today they are still selling the Rti 12's for a really good price compared to the A9's. I have a rather big room (about 24x25) to fill with sound.

So to complement the Rti 12's with regard to timbre matching, would it be ok to purchase some of the older "Monitor" series speakers for the center, surrounds and rear, or do you need to stick with the Rti series? I was also look at the FXi A4 and A6 speakers, but wasn't sure it that would match well either.

Going to purchase the Onkyo NR1007 to compliment this setup.

I personally would stick with Rti series for timbre matching ( same tweeters) . The FXI A4 and A6 would probably work as well. I believe the tweets are the same

12s' were selling for $300 apiece 1-2 yrs back...

If your going to just use a receiver to push your speakers stick with rti-8 you will get better response and driver control a seperate amp is needed to do the rti-12 any justice. In my experience this is what I have found out.

I say go for it!! That's a nice AVR....but a warning here, the 12's and A9's are a little power hungry. Don't get me wrong, the Onkyo will be able to power it for years and years....but to get the best out of them, most here would recommend a little more power.
