    Default question about speakers with built in subs.

    hi, i recently acquired a pair of fronts that has built in subs (LFEs) and i also have a seperate powered subwoofer (polk), i only have the amp preout for the sub, what is the best way to connect the speakers and subs for music and DTS effects? I read somewhere that you have to connect the fronts with the line inputs from the sub to control crossovers, but would my receiver recognize the two fronts when they are connected to my sub? sorry i'm a newbie so please bear with me...

    can i branch out the preout signal with y-connectors to the various sub terminals described above?

    will dts and all of the 5.1 stuff work with the fronts connecting to the sub?

    disable the built-in subs in your front speakers and make the subwoofer dedicated. You'll have to adjust the sub freq range. Usually the sub has a high range of 120hz.
