    Default Now a SACD Player

Well despite the advise I have gotten, I went ahead and bought a Krell S-300i integrated amp to drive my LSI9 2 channel set up and to replace my Emo UPA-2. It will be here in a day or two. Thirty day return policy so if it is a bust, I can send it back and be out the shipping. Got a great deal on a demo model, etc, etc. and I am a sucker for a deal.

I have been using my Oppo DV-980H as a SACD player. Now wondering if something like a Marantz SA8003 would be a big improvement over the Oppo for SACD listening? I know the Oppos are highly rated for DVD players, but not sure how they stand up to a dedicated SACD/CD player for audio performance. I am not interested in getting crazy here with a $5000-$10,000player, but I might spend a grand or so if I could get a big improvement over the Oppo.

Just trying to assemble a nice 2 channel set up.

    Appreciate your comments.

I don't think the Marantz would be a "huge" step up but might improve the sound some. Perhaps instead consider a DAC unless of course you prefer the SACD format for surround listening. If two channel the Oppo with a decent DAC would work quite well in my opinion.

Something like the Sony 9000es would work or the Marantz SA-11S1.

The Sony is a pretty good player...I've also heard Ricardo's model and for the price it is tough to BEAT! As for the poor man, me, I have a lowly Yamaha Universal player that I will use until I can afford to upgrade.

The Marantz SA-11S1 would be a few steps up.
