I 'm so impress with the I-link feature between the new Pioneer Elite VSX 49 TXi and the DVD 47Ai, VSX-49TXi has been upgraded with an i.Link digital interface-a world's first-to handle multi-channel DVD-A, SACD, and other digital audio signal transmissions between a DVD player and receiver . One IEE 1394 handle the digital connection and eliminate 3 pairs of analog audio cable. Heck of a deal. Anyone know of any other brand have this feature also?
I transfer some of the digital video between the digital mini DV and the DVD recorder with built-in hard drive with one single IEE-1394 cable, the copied one is as good as the original, there is no generation loss or de-grade. Since I use the same brand (my Pany 3CCD mini cam and DVD recorder), the DVD recorder control all functions on my minicam during the process. Just dump all of my un-edit video on the HD, then edit, and then transfer them to DVD. Now, I'm excited about the fire-wire connection/application in the audio side. Any digital TV out there has the IEE 1394 input yet?
