So do you like the sound of it? What did it cost for the kit and misc parts and case? Is this an aussie amp? Specs look good.
Nice clean workmanship. Did you notice that the middle orange wire tie has a slight burn mark on it.
Great job !!!! Shame to have to cover all of that good work.
Cool, but what do the bottlecaps in the bottom right corner of the pic do?

The white ones? well those are the input capacitors from Sonicraft.
High-pass filter capacitor to couple the signal source to the amplifier means that the amplifier can only amplify AC signals. A steady, DC voltage applied to the input would be blocked by the coupling capacitor just as much as the voltage divider bias voltage is blocked from the input source.
I used these input caps because I do not use a separated preamp, since this is an integrated amp and I wanted to block DC voltage coming to the the input of amp.

I'm sorry I see it now. The volume pot in the bottom right corner of the pick looks weirdly like two blue bottle caps from the side. Just me being stunned.
Very cool project

Well, lets see here. The boards are around $300 per pair (stereo), the transformer is $130, the mundorf caps are $100, The Sonicaps are $20, the potentiometer is $25 that is the total of $575 more or less! plus the rest like bridge rectifier, smooth caps, thermistors, cables, switch, chassis etc.But I used an old chassis from a Portal panache amp so I save some money there.I know with that kind of money I can get a new amp or an used one on eBay but,Trust me when I say I had so many amps including tube ones,But I always found something wrong with them, They never pleased me 100%. if anyone is for diy amps...look not farther!.The nxv200 amp kits can beat many good commercial amps even some Bryston amps!!! yeah you hear me right even some Bryston amps. How do I know this? Because I had a few Bryston too! and I did a test with some of my friends amps like Blue Circle, Bryston, Luxman, Adcom, and a $3000 amps that I do not remember the name but it was a monster.I do not say these diy amps are the best but,They definitely are worth to build one.
;)

I am very confident that this amp can kick some a$$ even those good commercial ones. I had soo many good amps including Bryston and tubes but, I always looked for something different, something better.but I did not want to show just the name of my amp,I wanted a clear but not fatiguing sound that I could listen for hours and hours without headaches, I did many diy amps including Gainclones LM3875 from Audiosector. Well I spent around $600 and yes! this amp kits are from Aussie Amplifiers These are the nxv200. and if you are into diy staff....go for it!!!;)[/
Yes, it is $600 USD.Well I did side by side test with some friends using:
Bryston B60 , Bryston 4B (with Adcom pre-amp). Adcom GCA-510 (rare)The luxman was the R117(Receiver), Portal panache integrated amp, Acurus DIA-100 MK.most of them I sold to my friends lol. I do not say they sounded bad but, the sound of these diy amps from Aussie amplifiers are awesome and beated the above amps!;)
Yeah! I checked their website and found it uses IFR MOSFETs (240 and 9240) so it may sounds good. It's the same MOSFETs in most Pass DIY amps too.
I can understand how it beats the Integrated amps and Lux Receiver but not too sure about 4B. So, it sounds better than Bryston 4B too?
Well,I was like you too. I could not believe it either! and yes it did and it was not only me that found it has better sound than the Bryston 4B. all my friends (5) said this amp the sound was so clean and clear but not fatiguing at all. That is why I ordered a second pair to have them for future projects.
the power supply should be hefty, I am using a toroidal transformer from Toroid corporation of Maryland it is a 670vac 35vac x2 with 40000uf Mundorf caps and Mur860 x8 rectifier and some smooth caps on each diode to filter any noise.I would not go lower than 40000uf with these kits they need a lot of juice, The more...the better lol.
anyone in diy staff should try to build some of these guys and see for them self what I am talking about.
This diy amp kits use Toshiba 2SK1530/2SJ201.
Nice job. Looks like $600 well spent. How much time?

Nice job, pretty juicy torodial transformer, looks like the same size that in my b&K 200.2, I do enjoy the MOSFET sound.
Perhaps a DIY project is in my future, I could use a 3 CH to power the rears and center....
