TSI400 vs TSI 500 with the CS20

I'm new to the club here and I have to say...I love this place. :D

Just ordered the CS20 on eBay for $139 and 8% Bing Cash Back.

I've got the tsi100's for rear surrounds (currently the fronts in a 3.1 setup) and obviously will be using the CS20 as my center. My question is will the TSI400's pair well with the CS20 or is the extra cash for the TSI500's with equal size cones worth the it?

Most posters here say that the tweeter is the most important driver to match. I'm sure Polk would say that everything in the TSi line is timbre matched. I'm sure either one will be fine and with your eyes closed, you probably couldn't tell the difference.

The TSi 400's only have 3 mids/woofers and the 500's have 4. They are also quite different in many other categories as well. I have just recently heard the 500's, but have never heard the 400's. IMHO, it would probably be best to go to BB or another HiFi store and see if you can get your ears on them and see for yourself. If it were me, I would get the 500's, but that's just the way I roll, lol.

So as it it ends up I went with Monitor 70's for my fronts. Got an AMAZING deal from Newegg that I couldn't pass up ($300 for the pair out the door with shipping). And from what Jeff says the Monitor 70's are where it's at. Next on the list is a new sub. You'll find my current setup listed in my signature.

I was gonna go with a Polk sub but I gotta say I'm not all that impressed with the accuracy and speed of the Pro series. Been very impressed with REL's T Series however.
