And i suppose it's "Green" because it's from Virginia -- Less than 500 miles away :)

This is what is now in my kitchen and breakfast bar area. It is a Brazillian granite. And I live only about 15 miles from the granite capitol of the world. Elberton, GA. lol

One of my favorites is Labador Antique I like the blue/ purple flecks.

(btw: this site as a slew of samples pictures)

I also like Kashmir Gold, I like seeing the grain flow of the stone.

But alot depends on the cabinets' color too. I would definitely suggest going and seeing the slabs in person. There can be alot of variations between slabs, even of the same type.

Also found his site that has HD quality pictures, and you can zoom in too..

I worked for years in the granite business, and my favorite is blue pearl. It's also one of the least expensive.

I'm kind of partial to the Elberton Granite. It's quarried from Elberton GA in the northeast portion of the state. When I was a geology student at UGA, we used to take frequent field trips to the quarries as Elberton is only about 30 minutes from the UGA campus. Much of the the granite you see on monuments and buildings throughout the country is actually Elberton Granite. It's signature trademark is the huge pink plagioclase feldspar phenocrysts located witin the aluminum and silicon ritch gray matrix. They are some of the largest plagioclase phenocryst one will see. For those of you from the Colorado/southern rockies area, the Pikes Peak/Silverstone Granite is very similiar in appearance, with slightly smaller plagioclase phenocrysts.

kcoc321, the blue/purple flecks you see in the Labador Atique is actually a type of feldspar named Labadorite. It is considered the only gemstone in the feldspar family of minerals.

This is the slab we were going to use in our new house, but now we find out (as they have used slabs from the same block) that it has cracks.

So now we are driving up to Denver this weekend to look at a few of the bigger yards up there that carry slabs. BTW, my photography skills do not do justice to the look of this slab. It was absolutely GORGEOUS.

My place came with something that looks like Kashmir Gold. No complaints. I like but don't love the looks. It doesn't show anything and rarely needs a wipe down.

I've got Labrador Verde in the kitchen...

Looks a little more black in person and the green is more subtle.

Needs to be wiped down a bit more than the lighter colors, but I like the color
