    Default MIT cable lineage/depth chart

    Unlike most electronics companies, who usually keep an archive of past models, MIT has very limited information on "Legacy" products. So if anyone has a good handle on what lines predate what other lines, which lines were superior to other lines, I'm hoping this could be the place to share that information. I for one can't drop the big bucks on the newest stuff and would like to know where some of their older lines fit in with their current lineup and previous lineups.

    It would be easier to answer a question about a specific version than to try and list all the various versions MIT has made.

    Personally, I'd like to know were the MI-330(plus, shotgun, S1, etc) & MH-750(same suffixes) fit into the interconnect and speaker cable lines respectively. Similar with the prefixes on the terminator line: CVT, AVT, etc...

    The MI-330 series are interconnect cables. The MH-750 series are speaker cables. The two series were produced at the same time and were a matching series. Both are the previous series to the current Shotgun series.

    The current Shotgun series (S1, S2, S3) are excellent cables that are above the entry level AVT's and below the Magmum and TOTL, Oracle.

    The Terminator series (T2, T3, T4, T5, T6) are much older cables and are the previous series to the current AVT series. Although entry level, the T2 version was very popular.

    In the various cables I mentioned, I'm curious at to what the difference would be between say the "MI-330 Shotgun S1" and say the "MI-330 CVT sII." Or The "MH-750 CVT terminator" and the "MH750 Shotgun" or "MH-750 Plus S3" ?

    If you shoot Gavin Fish or Joe Abrams an e-mail they are more than happy to outline the difference's.

    Interconnects;
    There is no "MI-330 Shotgun S1" and I don't believe "MI-330 CVT sII" is a valid model either.

    Speaker Cables;
    The "MH-750 CVT terminator" is a very old model, forget about it. The "MH750 Shotgun" or "MH-750 Plus S3" are the previous versions of the current Shotgun S1, S2, S3 series with the S3 being the closest to the older "MH750 Shotgun" or "MH-750 Plus S3."

    Old thread, but....

    So the MH-750 CVT cables aren't any good? How old are they?

    Who said that? Probably about 8-10 years if I had to guess.

    F1nut. His post before mine. "The "MH-750 CVT terminator" is a very old model, forget about it." When he said forget about it, I thought he may have meant too old and not any good.

    My buddy just picked up a pair and he wanted to know if I wanted to buy them. I've never heard of the CVT line. The cables are thick, off white in color, but the network boxes are small compared to the other boxes I've seen on MIT. Also I don't see Terminator anywhere on the cables. Are these different from the Terminators?

    I guess my response was in regard to how much they are worth. For the right price they might be alright. Newer MIT's oare obviously better but than that should be reflected in the price.

    I wouldn't pay more than $100 or so for the MH-750 CVT. Do realize today's equivalent which would be the CVT Terminator II retail for something like $999/8' pr.

    I don't have the money for $999 speaker cables. So I might buy these from him. One of the drawbacks for me is that they are not bi-wire.

    No doubt. Don't pass up a good deal because of that crap. I've run both and use Oracle jumpers if they're not bi-wire....no sonic difference.
