    Default Suggestions for sub

Hi there folks. New here (but I've been lurking for some time).

Recently I upgraded my speakers and receiver, consisting of the following:
    Onkyo 806
    Polk RTi8 for fronts
    Polk CSi5 for center
    Polk Rti4 for surrounds

    and a PSW10 for subwoofer.

The sub just doesn't have the oomph I'm looking for. What are some suggestions you could make that would match up well with my LCR setup? I can spend up to around 650-700 or so. Thanks for any help you could render.

    WELCOME TO CLUB POLK!

If you want to stay with the Polk line a really nice sub is their 12" DSW600--take a look above for the specs.....

Good with movies, good with music...it'll match your gear well.

There are of course even more powerful subs available. How big is your room?

    Welcome to CP.

In that price range i would look into subs other than polk personally. There are great options available from SVS, Hsu, ED, and outlaw. We need to know how big your room is as well as what your primary focus is. Is it HT or music as this could make a difference.

For starters i would recommend the svs pb12-nsd and the HSU vtf 2.3.
    Front - RTiA5's
    Rear - RTiA3's
    Center - CSiA4
    Sub - PSW110

Take a look at my sig and you'll see my HT system, so very close to yours. I had a PSW10 but have upgraded to a Micropro 2000. Awesome little sub, huge - HUGE - improvement.

I'm thinking about the Micropro 1000 or 2000. I'm thinking the 8" will mean the Micropro can do fast, tight bass passages and the high amplification will overcome the deficiencies of it being 8". Mostly HT and PS3/PC gaming with some music thrown in from time to time.

I received my pc12-nsd from SVS last week and so far I love it. It was between the epiK Empire and the SVS nsd series and I went with the SVS bc of the cylinder shape. The wife liked the cylinder more, so that's what we went with. I also couldn't justify the extra $250 for the epiK.
