Yes it is the best 1 din hu, bar none. Not a brand vs brand issue. Just that this hu offers the maximum tuning features in any 1 din hu.

Just looking at your settings, great as it may sound, right now, you can make it much better. Wanna try?

Give me the actual physical distance from your seating position to the middle of each driver. For accuracy it would be best if you sit and someone else measures the distance from the tip of your nose. This would be a starting point. I need to know the actual distances and the pld.

I'm open, but I didn't do those settings myself you know.
It was a pretty wise guy who did the tuning, and we're
gonna meet at tuesday for more tuning. Distances:

    Left tweeter: 100 cm
    Right tweeter: 140 cm
    Left midwoofer: 110 cm
    Right midwoofer: 135 cm
    Subwoofer: 240.00 cm

Results seems odd. You actually ended up cutting the left woofer at 1.25khz more than the right woofer after level matching. Did you write that one down correctly? Or is it really -3/-5 at 1.25khz?

The sub is close to flat with a difference of 3db between 20hz-63hz. Cabin gain and large sub box ftw. Very nice.

Yes, but the main problem wasn't preaks in the car, my issue on the right side was because a lot was out of phase. ;) Works much better now, sounds excellent. But I'm looking forward to tuesday for more accurate tuning.

Arun, just say your suggestions and I'll note it down for tuesday when we're gonna try more things. I'm also gonna angle the tweeters a little more towards the middle of the car to get more focus in the soundstage. ;)

Try these settings. Chances are it will be a very different type of sound to your ears.See how you like it.

These settings are only to give you and idea and get you on the road. You will have to learn how to tune and do it yourself. Depending on someone to do it for you may not be the best way. The guy who did your settings left too many holes / mistakes in the settings. You have an amazing hu. It would be a shame if you didn't use it to its full potential. ;)

Get an spl meter and a cd with test tones. Play only the left side drivers and measure each frequency you control. Next do the same for the other side. You'll know the left right adjustment you have to do.

It went pretty well. Third place, of 8 competitors of EMMA (Class: Experienced 5-ch.) ;)
I won a small trophy, and got "presented" (bronze) for a pretty huge crowd there.

I got great score on my setup/install, but the sound part
could've been better - a lot actually, especially the midrange

But you managed to get in the winners circle. Now you just need to tweak a bit more. 3rd place for 1st show sounds like an accomplishment to me. Gratz

Well, I tried. The 5khz-crossover point seemed to work pretty well at start
but when I listen to more songs, I found out that this did not work in my car.
I had to use some other EQ-settings though, because of different phases...

Thanks man, I'm pretty satisfied. It's my second competition though,
I achieved 2nd place the first time - but that was with only 3 competitors. :D
