    Default tsi200 or 300 or possibly RTi8

After purchasing some tsi100's a few weeks ago,i made up my mind and was set on buying some 200's for the front and putting the 100's for my surrounds(on another thread).

Now i have an upgrade bug, must be common in here...lol.I must say this is addicting.

I did originally want floor standing speakers and the wife says its OK to go with floor standing..lol and on Polk direct, i seen some tsi300's which have the same dual 5 1/4's and the 1"silk dome as the 200's.Now given that they are the same speaker, will the 300's perform any better than the 200's since they are floor standing?

Also was looking at the RTi8.Looks very nice but it might be a tad to much for my budget, but tempting.I would imagine the RTi8's would be be a big improvement over the 300's if i decided to go that route.Plus, wouldn't i have to get a new center to match the 8's?

    Thanks,
    Anthony

Welcome to the upgrade bug club! Yes the TSi300's will work better than the TSi200's.
The cabinet makes a difference. They make for a nice bedroom HT system IMHO.

The RTi8's are a step above the TSi series speakers noted above and make for a better HT speakers. I take it that you already own a CSi3 or a CSi5 center?

I just have a CS10.I if decide to go 300's i will keep it or maybe jump to a CS20.Then again if i do go with the RTi8,i gotta see how much i can find a matching center for.

Does it either have to be a CSi3 or 5?

The CS10 matches the TSi series speakers.
Most on here would recommend the larger CS20 if you have the room.

With the RTi speakers, the matching center is either the CSi3 or the CSi5 speakers with the nod going to the larger CSi5. The CSiA4 and CSiA6 are also a match but they cost much more since they are from the newer RTiA series.

Flyfisher, I have a set of black Rti8's that I'm selling soon in mint condition and all original packaging. The 8's are great speakers and easy to drive but do need a sub. I was part of the Tsi500 demo and found the Tsi a very smooth speaker with a more laid back tweeter than the Rti8, but lacking in the mid range. Just depends on your sound preference. Let me now if your intersted.

That's interesting as the TSIs have 4 mid-drivers? So I'm curious as to how Polk was able to get 'less' midrange out of them?
