Default Yamaha or Denon For RTIA Set-up

    I have:

    RTiA5s
    CSiA6
    FXiA6s
    DSW Pro 600

    Room size is 13 x 14 roughly......

Any recommendations for a AVR for these? Will I hear a difference in Sound between the two amps?

I'd go with the Denon if those are the only two choices.

Pioneer and Onkyo are both also great receivers.

I have the Yamaha with my A5's and find them bright. However, since I have started to use the pre-outs to my acurus, for powering the A5's they have flattened out quite a bit.

Sound is a subjective thing...but like most, I find Yamahas a bit bright with Rtis which are 'already' a fairly bright speaker by itself. The Denon puts out a warmer sound and would help with that!

dfranks...amplification may also make a difference.

What you need to do is get your 'ears' on both and decide what you like better.

Leroy's suggestions are also worth considering..i.e., some Pioneer Elites and higher level Onkyos...1007 and above!

As others have mentioned...Yamaha and RTi's makes for a fairly bright combination. I'd opt for the Denon myself.

As Leroy mentioned, Pioneer and Onkyo both make fine receivers, and work very well with RTi's.

The Rtis love Icepower, I'd go Pioneer Elite SC25 or SC27.

Anything less than an RX-v1900 will be like nails on a chalkboard IMHO... It would be a far better match to go with either Denon or Pioneer. What is your budget?

I've ran Denon, Onkyo, and Yamaha on my RTIs. Sound is a personal thing, but for what it's worth I like the sound of the Denon the best on my RTIs.

You might want to have some pre-outs on your AVR...so why not consider the Pioneer 9040 or the Pioneer Elite VSX21...good power, good sound, excellent DACs, pre-outs, etc.

You should be able to find these on sale for prices close to the Denon 1910?
