Default What is Your Most Favorite Album?

The one you that you listen to over and over again? Listening to it sort of brings back to mind the first time you made love. Something totally unforgettable.

For me it is the recording made by George Winston in the "Autumn" piano series. The first hearing was magical and the nth hearing remains just as magical. Just like making love.

Its a good question actually. it took me a (not so short) while to gather my thoughts.
couldn't possibly narrow it down to just though, so two is the best I could do.
    1. "And justice for all" by Metallica.
    2. "OK Computer" by RadioHead
I don't necessarily think those are the best albums ever, but definitely the two I never get tired of.

Too many "firsts" to really pin-point a favorite. Usually I will fall in love with a particular song or album and listen to it over and over until I eventually move on. Later down the road subsequent listening brings back memories of that time and place. All sorts of songs bring back different memories. It's all good.

even though I rarely listen to it anymore, I think that the Who's Who's Next is the epitome of all rock 'n' roll recordings (although I wish it sounded better). When it is all said and done, it is probably still my favorite.

    My top three by genre and my reference;

Arnes Domnerus group - "Jazz at the Pawnshop" 180 gm vinyl 2 LP set.

Telarc, Cincinatti Orchestra, Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky - "Cappricio Italien" Digitaly Recorded vinyl from the 1812 Overture LP.

Pink Floyd - "Wish You Were Here"

There are many many more but I think I nailed down the top three.

    U2 - Joshua Tree
Guns and Roses - Appetite for Destruction
Beach Boys - Pet Sounds (very cliche)
    George Michael - Faith
Linkin Park - Minutes to Midnight
Metalllica - And Justice for All

I could go on and on. I'm sure as soon as I post, I'll realize one that I missed.

For me it's Van Morrison "Moondance". It's similar to reading a really great book, you wish it wasn't over when it's done.

Don't know that it's my favorite overall, but BOSTONs first album never gets old to me--it stands the test of time far better than the vast majority. There would definitely be some Zeppelin in there as well, they were so ahead of their time. Steely Dan, Fleetwood Mac, the list is big....

I know "Greatest Hits" album are generally frown upon, but Little River Band's "Greatest Hits" somehow sounded soooo good from start to end. I am not a LRB fan given that this is the only album of theirs I own.

    I also have to add....

    Van Halen - 5150
Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms

YES - Tales From Topographic Oceans

There is just so much there to enjoy, and with the shortest song being 19 1/2 minutes there's a lot to enjoy in each of the 4 songs. It's a great "teaching" album and I enjoy it very much.

    Little Feat. Waiting for Columbus.
In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence.

The best way to enjoy digital music reproduction is to never listen to good analogue reproduction.
