    Default Need some amp recommendations

Iíve made the decision to start changing over to separates. My reason behind this move is the fact I canít find any receivers with enough power to properly handle my SDA-SRS 2s. These are the original 2ís with the 4 drivers and 2 tweeters. The other speakers in the system are a CS400i center and F/X 1000ís for the rears. These are all currently being driven by a Sony STR-V555ES receiver with a new Denon 2900 supplying the movies and music.

As I canít afford two separate systems (which will be my next upgrade ;) ) this system has to satisfy our home theater needs as well as MY music needs. My wife can care less how music sounds as long as the movies rock!!! I on the other love my music and want it to sound as good as possible. So, as a minimum I need to upgrade the amp to the front channel.

Any and all recommendations are welcome but please keep in mind I havenít won the lottery and cost is an issue. :D

I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Denon 3803 is my suggestion. You can get it for under $1000 with some shopping around.
    My 7.1 setup consists of:
    Denon 3803
    Panasonic DVD
    RTi70s front
    CSi40 front center
    RTi28s side surround
    FXi30s back surround
PSW202 Subwoofer - Hey, it's my first sub!
    RCA 46" 4:3 RPTV

I'm looking to spend a total budget of no more than $2000.

As for the Denon 3803...is it powerfull enough to run my SRS fronts?

I am very satisfied with my Rotel RSX-1065 receiver, or RSX-1055. There are several recent converts in this forum that would back me up on this. MSRP are $1999 and $1299 respectively. Expect about 10-12% off those price. Go audition these with your local dealer. Too many happy campers on this board on these units....

Yeah, I'll back Polkatese on this one....
If you're really set on seperates, I've heard nothing but rave reviews about the Rotel RSP-1066/RMB-1075 combo. It's a little bit more than what your budget is set for, but you'll be a happy camper. The next step down would be the 1065 or the 1055.

    The RSP-1066 retails for $1499 and the RMB-1075 for $999. This should give you 120W x 5.

The nice thing about the 1065 and the 1055 is that Rotel ups the power when playing in 2-channel stereo mode. So while the 1065 is rated for 100W x 5 and the 1055 is rated for 75W x 5, in stereo mode, the 1065 ramps up to 120 WPC x 2 and the 1055 goes to 100WPC x 2 for plain ole' 2-channel music mode.

Really a cool feature in my book!!
Damn....8 lines...I've gotta put my sig on a diet now....

    From the Denon web site:

    7 Channels equal power amplifier section ē 110 watts per channel (8 ohms, 20 Hz-20 kHz, <.05%THD) ē 150 watts per channel (6 ohms, 1 kHz, <.7%THD)
    My 7.1 setup consists of:
    Denon 3803
    Panasonic DVD
    RTi70s front
    CSi40 front center
    RTi28s side surround
    FXi30s back surround
