    Default Headphones/Earphones Advice

I was hoping to get some advice on a good set of headphones or earphones for both use on a plane, at work and when travelling. I currently have Etymotic HF5s but the one earphone is not working properly and I am trying to get them fixed under warranty. Once I get them back I might give them away and upgrade my set. I was looking for something that works well on a plane and is very comfortable (the HF5s sometimes are uncomfortable on long flights and long listening sessions). That might mean I need noise isloation or cancellation. I am willing to get something over the ear as opposed to the etymotics. Also, if I use an ipod as the source is there anything that can be done to enhance the sound at all? I am looking to spend no more than 250- 300 as long as they are worth it.
    Thanks

what are they going to be connected to? can you use the ones for and I-pod/phone?

I just read your post alittle better and see that you will be using an I-phone/pod. I have an I-pod and you can go into the settings and adjust the EQ in an I-phone/pod to differant settings to adjust the sound.
FYI I have a set of Senn. IE8's I'm going to be selling with very limited use if your interested let me know.

Go to head fi and look around. There's more going on there than you can believe on headphones. The biggest problem with headphones, like many
things audio, is staying on a budget!

I took a look at the Grado line, they do look pretty good. I guess my only concern with some of the open air design headphones is having others bothered by the sound and also how well they work on a plane or in noisy areas.

I do have a set of Grado-80 which is the best earphone i have so far. Bad thing about it is the open-air design, like u said, it bleed so the person next to you can hear what you're listening to. As a result, not a good for airplane or noisy areas either. I would recommend getting in-ear style if you looking for a set for those areas; probably something like Sennheisser. <--- not sure about the spelling though.

    Good luck,

The SR 60's do sound great, but I find them uncomfortable when I am wearing glasses. The SR60's I have rest on the ear. After 30 minutes or so, the pressure on the glasses frame starts to be uncomfortable.

They are fine when I have my contacts in.

Unfortunately or fotrunately I am in the middle of a car stereo upgrade, so I am not sure if I will pull the trigger on headphones or not. I might get an over the ear headphone but I want to ensure that it will work well on a plane without hearing too much background noise and engine noise because I don't need to crank it up.
