    Default Onkyo TX-SR805 firmware question

I am looking at an Onkyo TX-SR805 on Craigslist for $400 but it has firmware version 1.04. How expensive will it be to get the firmware updated to 1.08 or can I do it myself? Or should I just find one that has 1.08 already installed?

    It's all in the detail.

    HT Setup:
    Samsung PN50D550
    Onkyo TX-SR805
    Samsung BD-D6700
    Fronts: RTi10's
    Center: CSi5
    Side surrounds: RC65i's
    Rear surrounds: FXiA4's
    Sub: Velodyne CT120

Here's a thread that explains and has links to some of what you're asking about!

Nevermind. I found one at a better price with 1.08 already on it.

Man, I cost me $70 to have that thing sent from CA. It will be worth it though. Now, the waiting game...
Should I look at putting another fan on this receiver once I get it? I hear people talk about how hot this receiver gets. Mine will be setup on an open shelf. You can see the stand in my pics.

From what I've read, the SR606 gets hot too. From the looks of your setup, you should be fine.
