Frustrated

I had battery issues today, found out it was corrosion on the terminals. Unfortunately that means all my settings got wiped out.

I do remember a few settings and know where I'm going with it, but I finally had it where I didn't tinker every 2-3 minutes.

EQ, TA, Xovers.... it all runs through my HU. I have a general idea of where the settings were, but it will take some time to get it where it was.

Maintain a sheet like the one attached. After a while you will remember all the settings but its still handy to have a record. Helps when you have tweaked your way to a crappy dead end and you want to get back to the original point. Happened a lot to me. :)

I had intended to. It wasn't until recently that I really started to get a uniform sound for the variety of music I listen to. Just hadn't gotten around to it yet... :(

Do the settings get wiped because your head unit gets reset? If that is the only issue then you can just rig an adapter that plugs into an outlet in the car (cig lighter outlet) to a 9 volt battery and plug it in while your car's battery is unhooked. That will be enough to keep your head unit settings.

If the information is in all of your external devices..well...not a whole lot you can do besides hook up a secondary battery in the interim.

Phillips, how does your setup sound? I'm going to be running the sr104 with my 5250s as soon as I get the sub gasket from Polk CS. It has been frustrating having the sub sitting in the living room staring me down each day I get home from work.

That angle wasn't even on the hoizon when I wrote the post. Truth be told, I'd much rather fall asleep holding my 8 yr old girls hand (yeah she still sleeps between us) than wonder if I'm going to get any tonite. ;)

Mac on the other hand is going thru the typical, post natal 'frequency dip'. Give it time dude things will come back to normal. ;)
It takes a couple of years for the womans hormonal balance to level out. Plus, raising a toddler is exhausting.

Skip's next in line to experience this. :D

We were doing perfectly fine talking about audio. You didnt have to bring up pending children. Now I truly am frustrated. :)

We are still trying to figure out a name. She always wanted Connor Ryan. Then she found out it was a boy and immediately changed her mind. Go figure. Right now I like Joel and she likes Aiden.

yup, mood swings - whats good today sucks tomorrow, irrational thoughts - (what if something happens to me?), all the female quirks get magnified like 5x during pregnancy. Just grin and bear it :D.

Since its a boy, let her name him. Little fire sounds nice. This way you get to name the girl......as and when she comes. Plan ahead. lol

We will see. She likes Joel as well but doesn't know about it b/c she has trouble pronouncing it. I don't like Aiden b/c of the "den" part of it. Too common. Not looking for the most original name ever, but I also don't want a name that will disappear among other names.

Good news today. My mom called me and told me the gasket for the SR came in. I bought a soldering iron last night to get everything nice inside the box. I might be "hooking up and pounding" my sub to my own delight tonight. ;)

The funny thing is she really did want that name for as long as she can remember. 5 seconds after the nurse who told us left the room, she looked at me and said, "how do you really feel about Connor Ryan?" She had never had any doubt about it up until that point.

One good thing is he loves music. He can be still as a rock all day, and once some music starts playing, he starts grooving in the belly. The first time she felt him move was listening to music in my car.

On a side note, I got the SR sub in the car last night. Completely different sound than the mm 8"s I had in there. I am very impressed with it so far. I got severely pissed installing it though. My drill slipped ONCE and it punctured the surround. I used silicone to seal it and it seems to work just fine. The liquor flowed after that and needless to say, I've felt better than I do today :)

She probably had her doubt for a while, she just hadn't voiced it.

The best cure for a hangover is to get drunk again...lol :) Congrats on getting the sr 124 installed.

I want to upgrade my sub stage to the sr 124 plus an amp that puts out around 600watts at 2ohm........dream on.....can't afford the project for now. :(

Wife just told me this past weekend that she told her parents about our dancing baby. They threw on some classic rock and it started dancing like it does. My father-in-law got excited I guess and put some Techno on. The dancing stopped. After a few minutes they put back on rock and the baby started dancing again. Glad to know my kid has good taste :D

That's cute. :) Do you talk to the baby? After a while they start to recognise your voice and respond to it as well.

When my wife was carrying our daughter, I think it was like the 7th month or so, I had to travel to the US and Canada on a biz trip. The wife decided to come along. The airline wanted a doctors certificate and a test that required analysing the amniotic fluid to make sure everything was ok. Everytime the Doc tried to stick the needle in to pull the fluid the baby would swim towards the needle and try to grab it.

An hour and 6-7 attempts later both mother and doc were highly distressed. The doc turned to me and in all seriousness said, "You better watch it, shes going to be a handfull." Boy those were prophetic words for sure. :D
