    Lightbulb Help me choose a Digital Optical or Coaxial Cable

    Looking to upgrade the digital connection from my HD DVR to AVR.
    Here are 3 within my budget that look tasty:

    IXOS = $50

    SonicWave = $43

    Dayton = $46

    Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated!

    For that purpose, I wouldn't recommend spending any more than about $20 for the cable. Its not like the DVR is passing any super high res audio or anything. Its just Dolby Digital. I've never had any problems with the MonoPrice optical cables nor some of the ones that were AR branded.

    Now, if we are talking output from a CD player to a DAC, then I'd say go higher up the scale, but not for the DVR.

    Signal or Blue Jeans optical for that application.

    I had the Sonic Wave, I liked it very much. Excellent construction, and real quartz glass fiber.

    I currently use Belden 1694A digital coaxials from my transport and BluRay. Very neutral presentation--best dig coax I have used....and only $17! I like that the Belden does NOT use silver plated copper--I have never liked the silver plated cables, the 1694A is a solid conductor copper (basically, RG-6).
