Default No power to RM6750 Sub

The fuse in my RM6750 sub was blown. I replaced the fuse with a 2amp fuse from my electronics store which blew as soon as I plugged it in. I read in another thread that the fuse should be replaced with an exact replica of the original but the guy at the store said his fuse would work fine.
The original had a large braided wire through the fuse while the one from the store just had a single thin wire.
Should I continue to search for an exact replica of the original fuse or is there a bigger problem? (the original was not blackened)

I can't remember the amperage rating for that model, but it was a slow-blow type. If you replaced with a fast blow fuse, it probably couldn't handle the amps intial power on when the power supply caps 'charge'.

Cheers,
Russ
