Best to ignore some here, literally. There is an ignore feature on the forum that's useful.

If you're looking for new speaker cable, bluejeanscable.com offers the Belden 5000UE raw at a reasonable cost. Other to consider are signalcable.com and the AudioQuest offerings. monoprice.com is decent if you're on a budget.

Good luck and welcome to CP, binarycool.

It's also highly worthwhile to consider anti-cables. At least in my system, they work extremely well, and are at the low end price-wise of "audiophile" grade speaker cables.

Also, I feel compelled to point out that there are no stupid questions, but there are an awful lot of inquisitive idiots

I agree not one reason to change your wire. Also I use monster cable speaker wire and works just fine.

Default So hey - what are the second set of posts for?

Just bought 2 monitor 50's to replace ages old fishers, I read this thread and saw a reference to the second set of posts and bi-wiring.

does this mean I can rig a second system to them?

thanks

paul

PS - AGGHHH my brain - just found a thread that "Explains" Bi-wiring and Bi-amping" my brain is about to explode! I am going back to play with building computers as a hobby - much easier to understand.

are you all audio engineers?

Welcome to Club Polk.
Don't worry about the brain freeze, it happens to all of us.
Monitors 50's are an nice inexpensive set to start out with.
Great sounding speakers for the price.

Don't be intimidated by the audio stuff. It is no worse than computers.

In my view audio is more subjective. At times more of an art, than a science.
Many people have different audio experiences, hear things differently and hence may have significant differences of opinion.
But differences of opinion make the world go round.
