Nothing super fantastic, just a video of a dude running around in his highly modified Accord but I thought it was kinda cool. Although the barking of the tires at 6000 RPM's is pretty cool.

What I would give to do that to my accord, but leave it looking stock, save for maybe lowering it a little for handling, and tucking a nice exhaust as far up into the car as I could. I'm not one for the crooked pipe hanging off the side, even if it is a functional exhaust.

Wow...that's definitely one of the nicest Accords I've ever seen.
Subtle from the outside, relatively speaking, it all looks tasteful, imo, interior looks nice. And spinning the wheels like that at 6k? And accelerating to 110 that fast? I'd take it. ![]()

Well I did love my Pontiac 400 wide open myself.
Burn some gas but LOVED IT. Maybe some day I put that Pontiac 428 engine together and find a home for the gas sucking really sweet sounding V8. |

I did the jap thing when I was younger. Ultrafast time bombs. Axle shafts the size of a roll of dimes. Transmissions I could use for doing curls. Take a look at nearly any of these little tuners after 10,000-20,000 miles of hard use. Smoke, bad CV's, tranny problems. No thanks. It'll leave you saying I could of had a V8. I don't have anything against these little cars. I just would try to squeeze large amounts of power from them. It's kinda like amp vs receivers. Yeah they both are rated at whatever watts, but I'll take equal HP in form of a V8 any day... even carrying the extra weight. I'm not Paul Harvey Good Day |

Really nice styled Accord. Clean and sexy. Love the seats.
I'm sorry but that's not 500hp. It's going to be a 4cyl yes but it'd be an H22 motor (2.2l DOHC) and I'm sorry but if it truly was 500hp, it'd be a ton faster. That's really fast but it's probably closer to 300hp. Now he really needs a better tune. It's idling way to rough at idle/low RPM's and blows dark smoke when you get on it. Needs a tune bad! I'm guessing he's planning for some serious power since he's welded his motor mounts solid to get maximum power to the ground, I just hope he built his tranny to hold!

It still sounds like a lawnmower.
On top of that, all that grayish black smoke coming out of the exhaust on those full throttle runs...that's raw fuel. That's also likely why it idles so poorly and wants to die all the time. As for the chirping the wheels at 6K. Well, yeah, when your peak power comes in just before redline, you are going to have to run the piss out ofit just to get to the power band. Do at 2500 RPM at 70 MPH on an open highway and that's something. Barking the tires on a FWD car at 20 MPH is nothing. Especially since in FWD, when you get on it, all your weight transfers to the back of the car and you actually lose a good chunk of your traction. That's why FWD is horrible for drag racing. You can't put the power down. And what is with him? Why doesn't het get on it? Is he afraid he's going to break something? He would only bury his toes in the carpet in 3rd gear or higher. When I had my Mustang, I could stomp the gas from a dead stop and blow the tires away through 3 gears and and break them loose enough in 4th to get smoke. The Lightning will do it on a downshift on the highway from 4th to 3rd. 500 horses are cool but if you gotta baby it so much and your peak comes at a point where you can't use it effectivly, all it ends up being is bragging rights. I'd rather have a 300 horse Accord I could DRIVE. That car though, alot of work and time went in to it and that is cool. But it's obviously not sorted out yet if he needs to keep making excuses and babying it.

I'm not gonna believe 500 HP unless I see a dyno sheet (is there one in the video? I got bored and didn't watch the whole thing).
But AB, it would take an extreme cam to get to 500HP with only the cam. On the other hand, a mild cam, new heads, intake, exhaust, X pipe. Idles stock and puts 500 out the back wheels - now that is how you do it!

Well it's not a Honda, but I liked it. Love to see what this car would do on the road, but looks really impressive on the dyno.

I used to own a Honda Accord. I would buy one today if I don't already own a good reliable car. However, if I want a 500hp car (assuming that car indeed does have 500hp), it certainly wouldn't be a Honda Accord.
I think I am getting old, but I'd rather have a nice Infiniti G35 Coupe with just 300hp.

At the end of the day its still an ugly little japanese front drive sedan. Those things are under braked and handle poorly from the factory, i would hate to have a go in one thats got three times the horsepower than the feeble chassis was designed for.

While I will always be a fan of the big displacement muscle cars, I do understand why guys mod these out.
These things are the muscle cars of this generation. You can buy a brand spankin' new Honda Civic for $15,000. Then with the endless aftermarket support, you can fix it up. Are these rice rockets a substitute for a Chevy Corvette, Mustang GT, Ford Lightning, Dodge Ram RT10 or some other 400+ hp V8? Absoultely not. But they also cost 1/3 of the price and when youre 18 and working at McDonalds for $6/hr, thats what's inviting. |

I have a 97 honda accord with a throttle body spacer k&n intake and jacobs ignition system. Other than that is is stock. I doubt the 500 hp in this car. And the guy either needs to learn how to shift and or get a shift kit.

A 500 HP Honda Accord is all fine and dandy, but as long as there are Americans willing to modify a 1991 Pontiac Firebird to this extent, than .....
........sniff.......there'll always be an America. http://videos.streetfire.net/hottest...0b0189b029.htm That right there is a double-slice of the American pie !!! ![]()

I'm seriously doubting 500hp. But either way....What is the point of having a bunch of power in a front drive car???? Especially when it comes on with the force and unpredictability of a big turbo.
Nothing but torque steer and under steer. You can only have fun in a straight line. Give me a powerful rear driver any day!

You can't beat the sound of a lopy cam in a V8, unless it has a big blower on it.
