Anyone else read the Secret Shopper article in the latest issue of HomeTheater Magazine? I was laughing my ass off at some of the answers the sales to some very basic questions. Pick up a copy and take a look. It really makes you wonder where they get some of these people from.

Some of the best comments were regarding Plasma TV's...
"They run on plasma, which is a gas and over time it leaks out and has to be refilled."
or
"....they need to be recharged every 2-3 years, and that cost $2000."

Regarding DVD-A players,
"There's only about 10 discs out."
or
"Your talking about the future, five to ten years from now."

Some of the sales guy's did fairly well, but some of the stuff just killed me.

Yeah we had a good chuckle about this at work. I was going around quizzing people. Most of the tv guys aren't very good on the audio side of things so it was fun. Thanksfully none of them are 'Best Buy dumb.' The lack of general knowledge in consumer electronics sales is scary. We constantly get cross-shoppers from Best Buy who are worried about the corners of their flat tubes curling in, like the guy at Best Buy told them about. Their service plan covers it though, since it happens like every six months.

Most of the Plasma Fields were destroyed during the first war in I-Rack. That's why plasma tv's cost so much and the re-fills are pretty expensive for the same reason.
