Default Sid and the whole tweeter fiasco

I've done some thinking, and felt this post was in order.

I want to publically apologize to Sid (Trey) for ripping into him about something he had no control over. It's not his fault his Dad blew some tweeters, nor his fault his Dad is choosing to sell tweeters, when he got 2 free via the forum.

Unfortunatley (or possibly fortunately), his dad is not a member of the forum, so the disgust I felt over the entire fiasco here was directed at Trey, when it shouldn't have been. Trey got pressed in the middle, between a forum with friends, and his father. That can't be exactly enjoyable.

Once again, my apologies to Trey for not handling the issue in a different manner.

-Russ

Carefull Russ, your in danger of showing some real cajones. Your words are not to be shared alone. You all know who you are. Words have been expressed, primal feelings vented, now it's time to say the right thing.

Sid, what doesnt kill ya only pisses ya off more - or is that make you stronger? Hell I forget... You've been through the ringer, chalk it up to another one of lifes funny experiences.

I'll go along with that, I think Trey could have handled it better, but Russ makes an excellent point. I've said before and will repeat that I think Trey is a lad with merit.

I do think that the tweeter scenario is a piss poor one and I think that if that's what his Dad decided to do, the best course of action would have been to not say anything about it.

**edit** based on a PM I just read, I'll even go so far as to say that Sid's Dad is a dirtbag with about as much integrity as Scott Trigg. My condolences to Sid.

Well, you'll never catch me talking about anyones dad or mom; but that aside i like the kid; he soaks up info like a sponge and doesn't pretend to be anything he's not. I respect that....

Russ,

Good post ... I'm glad you reconsidered ...

As I stated to Trey in a PM ...

I've been a kid (obviously) and I'll probably be a parent forever. It is of course at best difficult if not impossible to TELL ones parents what to do, regardless of what age one is, as in the eyes of ones parents the child will always be a child to some extent.

I think Sid made the situation worse ?! by attempting to be straightforward about what was going on both in the forum and at home and for that I think he is to be commended.

Although it is some what of an unfortunate situation, I can't imagine what else he could have done.

No I don't...and upon further review I really don't want to know. It's none of my business and I've stayed out of it this long so I'll continue to stay out of it. What goes in my family is my business and I'm not about to turn into a hypocrite and start getting into your private life and/or family matters.

Sorry I even brought it up. If the P.M. does make it to my box..I'll just delete it.

No harm, No foul.

Sid, I can tell that you are a decent guy, but I have to float in the same boat as troy on this when it comes to the issue of dad in light of the same p.m. Please don't take it personal as I have no beef with you, and if I said anything that would have been taken out of context I apoligize.

Actually, Sean, if you reread my posts, I think you will find that I never mentioned Sid's name, did I? I talked about the situation but I didn't attach Sid's name.

Personally, I'm just really glad Sid gave it the ol' college try and tried to do the right thing instead of just saying that it was pointless to try. Nice job doing what is right!

So much for leaving the board, eh Sid?

Dammit, Troy, .... your glasses on backwards? That big goofy grin stretch one inch too far? Sheesh. The response made was directed as a tongue-in-cheek comment after Sid posted his Spongebob routine. Just simple, snide humor.

what was said was said.. it can never be taken back. it's done it's damage, and we all have to live with the consequences..

maybe in the future. we could get the facts before we condem someone? naw.. it's not human nature to do so.

i'm just glad i didn't say anything out of line. i'd feel bad if I had.

and i never even got the PM you all did. so i have no idea what's it all about.

oh well. i don't need any more drama in my life anyway.

just glad we can put this behind us and move on . back to talking smack about gear, music, audio, video, tubes, and IC's.
