Talking I got a ques about speaker wire hookup

hey,
Can anyone help me out with this. I am replacing the dash speakers in my truck. However, on the old factory speakers, the terminals are marked A, B instead of positive, negative. THey are crappy delco factory speakers. Does anyone know what the A and B is or how I can tell???

thanks

try the car audio forum below for better answers. I was up on car installs but that was back in High School. I have seen wiring kits at auto parts stores and Crutchfield that let you just plug the new fit to the factory harness, painless and easy and cheap enough, good luck

You need something like this

some memory is coming back, doesn't GM use the same color for each channel and one of the wires has a black stripe?

A = fronts, and has 4 wires two colors (2 blue and 2 purple)
B = rears, and has 4 wires two colors (2 green and 2 brown)

each set of 2 wires of the same color, one of them has a black stripe, the striped wire is the negative.

You are dead on with the colors. THat helps a lot. I understand that know, the thing is that there are no stripes on any of the wires. the only way I can tell which is positive and negative, is by looking at the speakers terminals. And it only is marked a and b. so I still need to know which is which
