Default static

i'm getting quite a bit of static coming through my speakers, but thats only when its really loud.
im wondering where this static is coming from and how i can fix it

im using an xbox, with a OPTICAL cable to my reciever, which uses 16 guage no-name speaker wire that connects to all of the speakers

i dont think it could be coming from the DVD/CD, or the optical monster cable.. could it possibly be in the amplifier in the reiceiver? or hmm, come to think of it there is a considderable amount of wire between the reciever in the speakers.. would the length of the wire make a difference? any thoughts would be really great.

try re hooking up everything you might have a lose conecton also when you hook up the speakers test them and then start adding sorceses like dvd then cd then x box. this is the easyest way to find the problem.
