Old style home theater

Design in 2004 and built in 2005, this theater design is mock patterned after the Roseway Theater here in Portland. It is not a traditional theater, given the seating arrangement but it no less serves the need. It has been home to endless teenage parties, sleepovers, movie nights, and sports events. It took a year to build, all the cabinets are handmade from cherry, the walls are burgundy red, with teal doors and a tan ceiling. The 'men' holding the tiffany sconces were designed by Steve Brown, industrial designer. The walls are concrete on three sides and double walled on the fourth. The ceiling has 'sound board' and is acoustically dampened. We had a ball building it, fun installing the gear and calibrating it and we continue to learn.
