Polk Audio proudly presents the Monitor 6 Series 2 Loudspeaker system. Polk engineers were challenged to create a moderately priced three piece system that could provide open, boxless, three-dimensional sound, and accurate transient response across the entire audio bandwidth. High efficiency allows use with virtually any amplifier. The subwoofer may be placed anywhere in the room and the satellites can be placed on a shelf or mounted to optional floor stands or adjustable wall brackets.
Each Monitor 6 satellite features Polk's newly developed 4 inch bilaminate polymer driver for ideal stiffness and damping resulting in smooth and accurate midrange response. An aluminum voice coil maximizes heat dissipation which results in higher power handling. The Monitor 6 satellite also emplys Polk's new SL1500 polymer dome tweeter for superb definition and smooth extended high frequency response. The SL1500 tweeter uses an ultra low viscocity (ULV) magnetic fluid to cool the voice coil. As a result, performance and reliability are vastly increased.
The Monitor 6 subwoofer utilizes two six and one half inch trilaminate woofers in a unique twin-tuned vented enclosure to minimize unwanted midrange output and bass distortion. Each vent is tuned to a different frequency thus canceling undesirable low bass peaks or "boominess." Tight, low frequency response is achieved regardless of the subwoofer's position in the room.
