RT35i

"…the RT35is were marvels of tonal, spatial and dynamic clarity. Not once did I lose track of the musical thread during the musicians' often highly complex interplay. This recording also allowed the RT35is' remarkably coherent midband to shine -- it's fast, incisive, terrifically textured, and throws an open soundstage with highly accurate imaging."

"Polk's new RT35i is a most impressive bookshelf loudspeaker. The few sonic shortcomings it exhibits are minor when compared to its many strengths. Polk has been on a roll the last few years, and the RT35i keeps Polk's train right on track."

"The Polk RT35i two-way, bookshelf-sized speaker is an incredible sounding speaker at a price that brings high-end sound within reach...for the incredible sound it produces, the RT35i is worth every cent."

RT15i

"...mid-range was very smooth and vocals were reproduced naturally...they image beautifully. Acting as relative point sources, I was able to obtain very natural instrument sizes with good orchestral depth, height, and width.

If you're in the market for a small bookshelf speaker, give these a listen."

RM6200

"...the RM6200 sang brilliantly...The speakers sound even better than they look...recommended for anyone after a mid-priced, fuss-free set of quality speakers to use in a small to medium-sized room."

"This is one of the best (if not the very best) sub/sat systems I've ever auditioned. Period!"

RM6700

"Times change, audio fashions come and go, but Polk Audio just keeps on producing great speakers."

"The RM6700's sonic signature is immediate, very clean, and low in distortion; that's why these little guys sound like much larger speakers...the RM6700's midrange was flawless--detailed and harmonically correct--and the treble was smooth, airy, and fully extended. We're downright persnickety about the way sats and subs work together, but the RM6700's blend with the PSW350 was absolutely perfect, causing the whole system to sing with one voice."

"We recommend this kit without reservation to those with small and medium-sized rooms."

"Sonically, this system is everything it should be by design and intent. The sound is smooth, vibrant, dynamic and unblemished by peaky effects that might look like a musical falsehood on a polygraph test. In other words, whatever the entertainment question, Polk's little bunch gives you all the right answers."

"I was immediately taken by the RTi4's detialed, natural, and delicate midrange."
"The RTi4's high frequency-performance was detailed and extended with all recordings, but percussion fared particularly well."
"Polk Audio is to be commended for a positive evolutionary change in its most affordable speaker line."

"These speakers have a lot going for them. They’re great for home theater, providing an involving and exciting home theater experience, but at the same time will not leave you wanting one bit when used for music. Their compatibility with many different types of amplifiers (including lower powered tubes) and in large or small rooms means that they can be used successfully in a wide variety of applications. Not only that, but improvements to your upstream equipment will not go unrewarded. To top it all off, in addition to sounding fantastic, they are both attractive and very affordable."

Monitor 30

"Polk's build-quality standards outpace the competition's...cabinet construction is rock solid, and the internal crossover uses high-quality parts...Ably assisted by the PSW10, the [Monitor]30 sounds like a much larger speaker...The speakers' dynamic impact and power are state of the art for a system in this price class...Clearly, the spiffy new Monitor ensemble is a worthy successor to the original models."

SurroundBar

"What you do get is a genuine sense of sound coming from behind your listening position... You feel as if there are indeed many small speakers invisibly placed around the room."

"It is gorgeously crafted from Aluminium..."

"From the outset the sound is immediately richer and more robust than the rival ******..."

"...the more you listen to the Polk the seemingly more invisible it becomes..."

"...it does manage to create a suitably enveloping overall ambience of effects that are far less influenced by the room, and where you sit in it, than [the 4] other systems [tested in this review]"

"...the SurroundBar is probably the unltimate one-box speaker solution I've heard to date."

"Not surprisingly, the SurroundBar includes seven 3.5-inch drivers, three tweeters, and a very complex 39-element crossover. What is surprising is how well it works."

"In fact, in difficult rooms, such as those in which the rear speakers have to be mounted in acoustically undesirable locations or the seating area is not ideal for surround (up against a wall, for example), the SurroundBar will surely outperform a multiple-speaker arrangement."

"the SurroundBar does a great job of doing exactly what it was designed to do: fill a room with quite fine surround sound without intruding on the homeowner's décor or lifestyle. And that's the (sound) wave of the future."

"...the front stage is super wide and impressive from many listening positions. The center channel is stable during the hullabaloo too, which helps dialog come across rather clear and un-muddied. There’s a cool lack of source points too from the successful cancellation of the inter-aural crosstalk. Imagine more of a “wall” of sound, rather than a speaker here, and a speaker there with many dead spots in between."

Translated from the original Norwegian
"The surprise is big when this piece is capable of giving a pretty convincing expression that there really is surround speakers in the room. It does not sound as if there are two speakers, but several speakers at the rear of the room that gives a complete and pretty wide sound from behind."

"Conclusion
Polk SurroundBar is not for those that have to rebuild their garage for their home theatre system, but it is definitely one of the most intelligent products we have seen for the regular consumer with a strong aversion against pulling cables all over their home and mounting speakers on the back wall. In addition it also sounds very nice."

"This is no bluff people, but a close to genius idea that works as its purpose."

"get the best there is in audio surround sound with Polk Audio’s SurroundBar!"
Exercise For Men Only
July 2006

"And the sound on Baz Luhrmann’s "Moulin Rouge" was so compelling that the film was half over before I remembered that I was listening to a single box speaker. And that’s probably the feature that impressed me most about the unit. It’s a very satisfying and involving system that will not leave you wanting more."

"...the SurroundBar will get you about as close to discrete surround sound as you can get from a single-box speaker at the front of the room. And its sound quality speaks of its heritage - the Polk speakers sound rich and full-balanced and will blow away the speakers built into any television, flat panel or otherwise."
