Polk Drafts Ravens Star Torrey Smith to its Athlete Ambassador Lineup

Baltimore, MD, Oct. 9, 2012 – Up-and-coming speed demon Torrey Smith will sport more than purple pride as he enters his second season as a Baltimore Raven.  The team’s wide receiver will join Polk’s elite team of sponsored athletes to help promote the Baltimore-based brand’s line of sports and active lifestyle and noise-canceling headphones. Smith is the first NFL player to sign with Polk.

“It’s a big time for Torrey as a great emerging talent, and a big time for our brand as we continue to make waves in the headphones space,” said Polk Senior Vice President Ben Newhall.  “We couldn’t be more pleased; Torrey is a superstar, and no doubt a first-class pick to represent the NFL in Polk’s lineup of athletes.”

Smith signed to endorse the UltraFit™ Sports Headphones Collection and the UltraFocus™ Noise Cancelation Series Headphones including the 6000 in-ear-canal and 8000 over-ear models through a variety of promotional activities including advertising, retail point of sale materials, marketing collateral, web and social media, as well as promotional appearances for the brand.

Smith joins a superstar lineup of Polk athlete brand ambassadors including the NBA’s Rudy Gay, U.S. Women’s Soccer National Team member and Olympic gold-medalist Heather Mitts, Ultra-marathoner Josh Cox and Major League Lacrosse’s 2012 Offensive Player of The Year Paul Rabil. Gay and Rabil join Smith as Maryland natives on the Polk sponsorship team.
