Atrium5c Features:

5-inch (12.7cm) long-throw mineral-filled polypropylene cone driver with butyl rubber surround creates surprising bass response from a compact design.

3/4-inch (19mm) anodized aluminum dome tweeter with rubber surround for long life; the tweeter uses a neodymium magnet for better power handling and smoother response.

Patented Dynamic Balance^® and Klippel optimization technologies ensure the perfect material performance, eliminating driver and tweeter "artifacts" for more realistic sound reproduction at high and low volume levels.

100V/70V transformer for distributed-line sound systems: five tap settings: normal pass-through for standard 8 ohms operation; 7.5W, 15W, 30W and 60W settings.

Self-resetting protection circuitry that enables the use of a wide range of amplifiers as well as listening levels.

Broad coverage baffle design, adapted and applied from our current Atrium design but with subtle improvements. The new Atrium5c has a more steeply-angled baffle design that maximizes critical mid- and high-frequency dispersion over a large area, without sacrificing the detail.

Durable, mineral-filled polypropylene cabinet design, with molded-in bracing, survives years of seasonal changes for truly great sound, no matter what the weather.

Polk all-weather certified like all Atrium loudspeakers, the Atrium5c must withstand a two month barrage of extreme environmental testing. Polk all-weather outdoor certification is our guarantee of reliable high performance indoors and out, 365 days a year. The Atrium5c was subjected to the following tests:

Extreme temp test: cycles from -40°F to 185°F at 50% humidity for 48 hours.

Extreme temp test at high humidity: cycles from -40°F to 185°F at 95% humidity for 24 hours.

Extreme humidity test: 140°F at 95% humidity for 54 hours.

UV/Salt-Fog materials test, based on military specifications for ASTM D5894 and Mil-Std 883 tests: alternates one week of UV and one week of salt fog exposure for six weeks (1008 hours total).

UV/Salt-Fog whole speaker test (based on military standard Mil-Std 883 Method 1009 8 test): UV and Salt Fog exposure, 24 hours.

Whole speaker immersion test ("The Dunk Test"), based on military specifications for Mil-Std 810: total immersion test for air/moisture leaks in non-ported speaker models.

Whole speaker spray & sprinkler test: periodic forceful dousing for ported and non-ported speaker models.

Impact test for product & material durability.

Speed-Lock mounting system The Atrium5c employs Polk’s unique Speed-Lock mounting system, for easy, safe one-handed installations even in difficult locations. The simple mounting procedure means fewer parts to “juggle.” Install the bracket and the speaker slips on and clicks into place.

Aluminum grilles and bracket, with stainless steel and brass hardware resist corrosion.

Available in durable, weatherproof black or white paintable finishes.

Waterproof rubber plug seals the tap switch, ensuring the speaker is protected against the elements.
