Home theater takes on a new dimension
The CS250 center channel speaker features:
- Magnetically shielded to allow safe placement next to TVs and video monitors
- Dynamic Balance drive units ensure timbre matching to other Polk speakers for seamless imaging
- Fluid cooled tweeter provides the high power handling essential for center channel speakers
- Non-metallic driver basket assures the best magnetic shielding
- Angled cabinet allows the CS250 to be pointed upward when placed in a low position (such as under the TV)
- Low profile design allows unobtrusive placement on top of TVs
The Center Channel Loudspeaker:
Whether you're assembling a new home theater system or upgrading an existing one, to experience the full potential of Surround Sound you will need a center channel loudspeaker.
Contrary to popular opinion, the center speaker is not just for reproducing dialog. Since all on-screen action, including explosions, gunshots and sound effects as well as dialog, must be faithfully reproduced and anchored to the TV screen, not just any speaker will do.
Here's a checklist of things to look for in a center channel speaker.
Designing a speaker to address all these criteria is a tall order. How do you build an uncolored high performance speaker capable of handling lots of power, magnetically shield it and then package it into a compact, unobtrusive enclosure? By applying the latest technological advances in materials and measurement to an understanding of people's needs, Polk has done exactly that in three new center channel loudspeakers. Harder to find then most new center channels.

This is a great sounding center speaker. I have had it matched to a a few different pairs of Polk speakers, old and new, and they all sounded awesome. You can get these for less money now-a-days so they are a great bargan!

Full range of sound, deep sound for a center speaker, and crisp, clean highs.
Weaknesses:
The grill has popped off on odd occasions! No problem, I just put it back on, and it stays on for another year or so.

I have enjoyed this center speaker as part of my home theater for years. It has always performed excellently, and I am so glad I got it years ago.

High quality sound, and build, integrates well with a wide range of speakers both polk and other brands, i have mine matched with a pair of Maudaunt Short MS35Ti's and i sware if you didn't know you would think they are all from the same manufacturer
Weaknesses:
Could have had better cable terminals, and if you use it without the grill you can easily see the wadding through the front accoustic port
Review:
Wow what can i say , i picked it up on ebay for about a tenner, an it's in awsome condition still. The sound is clear and mellow, with a supprising amount of bass and because it doesn't use a metal tweeter manages to take away the brightness associated with digital sources. Construction is top notch too , however i would have preferred terminations that accept banana plugs.
