db1240DVC Features:
Polypropylene cone with rigid ABS dustcap to stiffen the cone for greater mechanical stability and lower distortion.
Marine Certified Polk db Series speakers are built tough to withstand the toughest environments so they are perfect for use in boats of all types. That’s why Correct Craft offers Polk speakers in their award-winning Nautiques ski and wakeboarding boats.
Santoprene surround is impervious to extremes in temperature, humidity and exposure to sunlight for excellent long term reliability.
Fire-retardant flat NOMEX® spider allows extended linear motion while providing highly reliable mechanical and thermal stability.
Double venting of the 4-layer Kapton voice coil former, cone/coil coupler and pole piece contribute to the high power handling and reliability of the db Series subs.
As with all Polk subwoofers, the voice coil alignment, motor and suspension were optimized using a state-of-the-art Klippel laser analyzer. The result is superior cone travel linearity for flatter response and lower distortion.

Phenomenal sub. i have to say the one thing i hear people say most when they sit in my car is "that is the best sounding system I've ever heard". I have two of these hooked up to a hifonics 1000.1d amp at 1 ohm in a fierce audio dual 12 inch vented box, and it sounds incredible. These subs don't boom, they knock. I'm very pleased with them, and I find it hard to leave my car. i just wanna keep listening! Don't think twice, buy these if you want a good, solid, loud, crisp 12 inch sub that really brings out the low end. Polk audio, you've got me for life.

I have had this sub for 2yrs. now in a ported box custom designed by polk audio powered by a kicker ZX10-7.500 and i could not be more pleased. The sub handles EVERYTHING i throw at it from Waylon to Too Short to Deadmou5. It has sounded great in all applications.( Im switching to a closed box for size issues) ill post back
