These thing absolutly pound. The first two days I've had them I have had a splitting headache after my drives. The hit everything, really deep lows. This was my first system. I don't get much rattle since I have a pathfinder... don't be mistaken, these things shake the crap out of your vehicle...I can't go past 25 on my deck with heavy bass song because it hurts my head WOO HOO! I've heard MTX 12" Sledgehammers and these are louder than those and they cost TWICE as much.

Wow! Wow! Wow!!!! Thats all I can say about this! My friend was boasting in my head that this enclosure will suck. He's proved wrong. He have 2 Pioneer competition 12's in a pro box that can easily take 6,000 watts with no problem and they dont hit hard as this! His speakers sounded muddy and dull running on a 3,000watt amp. He was shock and stun by the performance of this enclosure as much as i was. I'm running a Maxxsonic's Crunch PowerZone PZI 250.2 which is thumping out 1,000 watts at 4ohms all in my 95 suburban. Now I need to increase my highs to match up with the bass they put out. Very clean and loud at low settings. I wonder how will it sound when i really do crank up the bass?...... I'm a bass player and I know bass when I hear it and this enclosure does it all! Im thinking about getting rid of regular rig and buy to more of these and customise them to play at shows lol. Loud on the streets and in venues in the future. PolkAudio is AWSOME!!! p.s. And a proud first time owner of any polkaudio equipment and sticking to it.

i think that the bass in it is a lot better then my old infinitys. they also look sweet they look a lot better then what my old subs look like.

i think that you could plexy glass over and so there is no way to break the sub if you through something in your car

i just got them at circuitcity 2 days ago and they sound sweet. i had 2 infinity subwoofers in a probend box with a 4 ch mtx amp and i sold it for $575 bucks and i went over the circuitcity and picked them up and a new mono mtx amp for $548. i think that these sub are really look sweet and sound as good as they look.

Strengths:

most subs either hit hard or are loud. these subs are both they can hit hard and are still loud. also very little distortion.

box is huge and weighs like 80lbs also i can't fit two of these in my car. but thats why im getting a truck!

iv've had these subs for about 4 months and they are my best buy ever. i've had kicker solo-barics, audiobahns, and alpines, and these subs are louder than all of them.i've got the loudest system in my school(still in high school) and i got all my friends jealous.i got a poweracoustic 980 watt pushing these.i would tell everyone to buy these subs if your looking for somthing to rattle your head.

Strengths:

The solid, deep, quick punch of these subs is like no other. I have never heard anything like this. Usually every sub has their downsides but not these. I would recommend this package to anybody.

Weaknesses:

The box is quite large and heavy but anybody who knows about car audio knows that subwoofers are required to have a certain size of enclose for the proper sound and this definatly has the proper sound. The loudest, deepest and most solid subwoofer i have ever heard. I wish I had the money to fill my car with polk audio gear. someday!!

I recently bought these subs with the enclosure and they are absolutly insane! I previously was running 2 12" audiobahn subs with the same amp and the difference is unreal. I will never buy anything but polk audio again.

I got mine on sale @ Circuit City 3 days ago with some DB coaxials. Compared to the 7500 series MTXs and Comp VR Kickers this had a sound as clear as the MTXs and hit deeper than the twin Kicker enclosure. I've got mine powered by a Kicker 600w amp and all I can say is WOW! These subs are excellent!!!

This unit gives out clean deep bass. I replaced two audiobahn 1206Ts running at 1800 watts(total Rms) with this running at a mere 520 watts(total Rms). This system is even louder, and it delivers much deeper cleaner bass. I have it a Saturn (sucks) and it rettles the entire frame.

The box is beautiful, the subs are perfect and the bass coming out of this thing is outta this world!

The box was too big for my to fit in my trunk, I have a 2000 Civic coupe. I ended up having to take out the back seat and trunk floor to get it in there, it wasn't too bad though b/c I had the seat out already when I put in the MMC690s. Oh one other thing, the box barely clears the magnets of the MMCs.

Spectacular sound. Plain and simple. Best box I have ever heard. Most of the reviews I read stated that they are pushing these bad boys with a 600w amp - I'm pushing mine with a 400w kicker and it still sounds incredible. I've pushed them pretty far and there was absolutely no distortion (unless you consider the hatch of my PT Cruiser rattling so hard it felt like it was going to fall off distortion) I highly recommend this product.

Tight bass, great range and EXTREMELY EFFICIENT. I ran these on MAYBE 200 watts, and they sounded amazing.

Weaknesses:

I guess maybe price, some people dont like the fact that it weighs almost 100 lbs, but that means no theft or shifting around in the trunk for me!

I personally am the proud owner of a set of these things...all i can say is, amazing. The box's design is so fluid, it fits any trunk's decor. Im 17 years old and was lucky enough to get a set of these on my employee discount from Circuit City, along with some 6.5inch DB coaxials, and im now the loudest person in my highschool! Excellent, deep lows, tight mids and amazing range make these things one of a kind. I have a 1990 accord, which is a pretty small car, so the box doesnt take up too much space. All i can say is, well worth every penny. THANK YOU POLKAUDIO!!!

I pick up on of these enclosures with subs at Circuit City. I have tried many systemes, from Audiobahn to Dual and this by far is the hardest hitting one ever. My friens always boasted that his kickers(2 - 12"solo-baric L7 )kicked so hard but when i cranked them up for him, he was blown away. Mine and his have both 1500 watts peak. Mine hit the beats clean and sharp/crisp and his just bumbled around. Thanks Polk!

I just installed this a few hours ago, and MAN! This thing hurts, I mean physically hurts my head. I wanted some substantial bass, and what I got was garage rattling goodness. I was amazed that I could hear the rattling of the lights in my garage ceiling, and the volume wasn't even up much. I guess I will need to upgrade my sound dampening stuff now. One layer won't cut it. This is worth Every penny! Oh, and I am running it of of a kenwood amp that delivers somewhere around 850 watts @ 2 ohms.

I had 2 Polk 10" woofers in a inclosed q-Logic in a 2000 yukon xl, a big suv to get it to sound good, i also have a 800 watt class D mtx amp, i will have to say it thumped so hard it hurt, but it still wasnt enough for my taste, so i went and bought the db212-2 box and put it in that night, oh baby it was perfect it was so loud that my tv in the back seat rattled loose from the ceiling,and my ears hurt so bad that when i got out everyone talking to me souded weird oh man it is loud, i have never heard anything so loud in my life, it is totaly the best pare of woofers i have ever had, you will not be disappointed if you buy these woofers, thanks polk i have always and will puchase and love your product, you are the best.

This system goes back to the basics of car audio. There is no fancy structure behind it's look. One magnet, One voice coil, ran through one single series connection. I bought these as an economical solution and didn't really expect much from them as an entry level sub in the Polk lineup. When I hooked these up I couldn't believe how hard they hit and how clean & accurate this loaded enclosure is. Definately worth every dime. I originally bought these just for something temporary until I could afford Infinity Kappa's but I am going to keep them now. I still can't believe that they are capable of handling a Rockford power BD1000a1. These things are no joke!

I have a 84' caprice classic with huge trunk space and I tell you that these speakers are great. My rear view mirror shakes off the wall and my trunk raddles off the chain. Its rediculous, but I love it. Only problem is that they are a 2 ohm set and I have a 4 ohm earthquake 2000 watt amp. So the amp ends up over heating and I melt the fuses. So I guess I need another set to split and get maximum bass. Go out and get these subs now. NO JOKE Make ppl hear you in there sleep.HAHAHA

I thought my Sony Explodes were loud, and I wanted to try something new...WOW! These are definately something different. The sound quality is just amazing, hits everything from high's to low's! Amazing range of frequency and response. I was running them off of a 1000 watt max Sony Explode amp, but it always over heated. So i got the Kenwood KAC-7252 and it makes these things pound like theres no tomorrow. I was so impressed with the structure. The only down side is that most 2 channel amplifiers cant handle 2-Ohm stable in mono, but honestly, I've heard woofers pound, but not like these! Great job Polk!

Poor information in the manual-It says a little over 700 watts rms, but if I'm pushing close to 900 watts rms with no problems, what can they really handle?

Review:

This setup is amazing! The manual says they are rated at about 720 watts rms, I'm pushing easily 900 watts rms, close to 1800 peak at 14.5 volts. I have these hooked up to a Kenwood KAC-9102D. People are complaining about the 2 ohm setup, they need to realize that 2 channel amps aren't made for subs, you need a d-class amp-which are mostly made to handle 2 down to 1 ohms.

I should kick my own a**! A year of buying, testing subwoofers for my SUV (then re-selling it for up to 60% of what I just paid) I should have gotten this setup a long time ago and saved my self lots of money. I never really used to play my music loud because subs/box I used to have distorted. This handled that very well. I now hear rattles I've never heard before, after only using it for a few days! I never really liked listening to somebody's music at a stop light, I just turn this up and let my system do the talking!

wow... i just had these installed in my 2002 stratus coupe... its serious bass.... i have had all my componants changed also.. justwish i could afford polk amp for it all... im just running a cheap amp 1000 watts bridged and i was offered a spot in the compitition... i have neer heard such bass before.. this is serious bass... its so clean wow amazing... socrisp so deep and hard.. hands down the best subs ever .... i can say i honestley believe that these will blow the jack hammers out of the water.. and the price is killer... so much bass and quality for such a remarkable price.. polk keep up the good work... and coem sponser me... ive already have u written all over my car.. !!! love them

Longevity, Consistency, Capability, Resiliency, Also Frequency Response and the shear Thump they put out are a big PLUS.

Weaknesses:

The Enclosure is HUGE, other than that I have no problems what so ever!

Review:

Iv'e had this enclosure in my car for about two years now, and it's still hittin the lows really well, I never had any problems with it. The only thing I can really complain about is that it is HUGE! It is pretty much impossible to fit it into a 2000 Civic Coupe through the trunk, I ended up having to remove my back seat and my front driver seat to stuff it through, which I needed to remove the back deck and seat anyway to mount my MMC 690s so that wasn't even an issue. So far those subs outlasted 2 fuses, 1 amp and countless hours of high volume and millions of hard bass hits. When or rather IF these subs ever go out I'm not gonna hesitate on getting another set of Polk Subs hell I'll more than likely upgade to the SR series 12s

First of all this is one of the best subwoofers I've ever heard on the road.I have it installed and wired up to a crunch 250.2 amp putting out 500 watts rms,1000 max. It's in a 2006 Toyota Corolla Ce. The bass and the clarity is so amazing. And since it's 2-Ohms impedance it sounds louder than the regular 4-ohms standard subs out their.Since Polk Audio made everything it's tuned for maximum efficiency, the best one I've seen and heard so far and I keep up with car electronics. The box it self is rugged and the ABS grill stands out in public and its cool! People turn their heads and look at me.The price was a killer saving to me at my local Fry's Electronics store. If anyone ever dreams about the type of bass that you can feel in your heart,a quality made sub,one that will flex and work your amplifier muscle this is the subwoofer for you!!! I would recommend it to anyone. I give 2 thumbs up to the Polk Audio engineers and technicians for creating this subwoofer!

I drive a 1991 Jeep Cherokee and my subs are running off a MTX 600 Watt Class D Mono Channel Amplifier. 1200 peak and 640 rms. My deck is a Pioneer - 50W x 4 MOSFET Apple® iPod™/Satellite Radio-Ready CD Deck. Sounds great. I would recomend these subs to anyone. I have so many vibrations now, even when I am not playing any music I still have things vibrating. I put money on the arm rest and it bounces up and down, makes my hair move. I have had people tell me to turn it down because it was hurting theit ears. haha.

This MUST be as great as everyone says it is. I bought my db212's about a month and a half ago. Finally wired everything to a 1000watt amp and power cap 3 days ago. Once that bass started pounding, all the staff members at a local car audio shop started hudling in front of my open truck. Everyone was like "DAYYYMMMM!" The manager comes up to me: "It hits clean and hard. That box looks crazy!"(in a good manor) So what did I do after everything was set up? No, I didn't drive around flashing my sounds to the world rather I stuck by the shop, testing the limits of this bad boy. I knew I wasn't making a mistake when I purchased your product. I must say I have used and tested alot of subs. But I decided to go with Polk DBs. I know I made a very good judgement. These subs hit hard as hell, can take anything you put on them, and the enclosure looks awesome.I had a sound off with a friend that had 4 CVR 12s and he could not even hear his music. LOL. Way to go Polk Audio. I am getting everything Polk in my car.

I've tested and done alot of research for my car and by far polk has some of the clearest and cleanest sounding speakers out there. I have had this for about a year or so and it still hits just as hard when I first got it. Although I have not yet gotten the full potential of these subs yet. (Not running the amp I need for it yet because it wasn't available at the store) So I still have yet to max out these speakers.

These subs hit hard I was pushing them with an infinty reference 611a had them in a 98 cavalier my mirrors were useless I had to turn the radio down when switching lanes lol. My rearview mirror use to fall off the windshield literally happened about 10 times it got to a point when i got hit in the head out of nowhere it was the mirror coming down again great for rap and rock. You like alot of bass get these definitely worth the price I wanna throw another set of them in my trunk and go to some competitions maybe when the weather breaks having doubts dont these are the best subs I ever owned.

got the deal of the century, circuit city was selling the floor model i picked them up. This is by far the best subwoofer system i have heard in a long time. It does not have that loose sound like other brands do. It feels like somone is punching me in the back of my head when im in my front seat with it turned up to about 12. The loudest bass system I've ever heard. The db212-2 puts others to shame. If you like loud low bass, this is for you. I have the db212-2 hooked to a Rockford Fosgate T10001BD which puts out close to 1000 rms @ 2 ohms. It handle's the power extremely well.

As you will read from everyone else...these bump. I have them face up in the back of my 08 Scion xB. As of now they are hooked to a 4-way amp (bridged to 400x2) Autotek amp. I go oldschool with my stuff. Very clean sounding and I finally have a car that don't rattle like crazy. Just make sure you have the room b/c the box is bulky. Got these for a steal of a price. You can't go wrong with these. Only louder system I had was two Vega's (same size)...but very comparable. I wonder what some db readings out there are. Prob 130's.
