Nice highs, decent mids, tight lows
Weaknesses:
None that you could blame at this price point - the actual speaker itself (basket mainly) was fairly cheap.
Review:
These speakers do what their price reflect. They have far better highs than your factory speakers, the bass response will be less boom, but more impact and tone. They are not the end all be all, but they do offer a value that you can not match elsewhere.

Clean, clear, sound.
Weaknesses:
absolutely none.
Review:
I have 2 pairs of these speakers in my 98 explorer. The 5x7 speaks are run by a MTX 564. I have 2 elemental designs 15 inch subbies run by a memphis 1000d. Pioneer deck w/ i-pod hookup and a optima yellowtop battery. This system sounds as good as my Bose lifestyle home theater. My main man Chris Kaufmann hooked it all up. How a sound system is put together is just as important as the type of products you use.

They dont require a lot of power... Yet still rock!
Weaknesses:
THEY'RE FRIGGIN' DANGEROUS!!! TURN EM DOWN SOMETIMES. Pay extra visual attention when driving...cause you cant hear anything outside your vehicle...seriously folks.
Review:
These speaks SCREAM! Powered by kenwood (head), and alpine amp (75 watts x4)...I need a break before they do (what, i cant hear you!). The sub takes the bass...& my 4 db's are pumpin' out highs & mids like nuclear fission!!! These are the cleanest sounding 5x7 speakers i've ever witnessed in ANY price range! My passengers cant take it when i crank 'em up...I can!!! (for about 10 minutes). WORTH EVER PENNY...

Will fit many Ford products with no cutting or drilling.Outstanding sonic quality, tight bass, and sparkling highs!
Weaknesses:
Found the crossovers on all four of my speakers (Small component on the terminal block) loose. The glue that holds it on seemed to not be holding it in place. Worried about rattles I placed a small blob of hot glue under each one. This fixed them back to 100%.
Review:
I recently leased a 2011 Ford Edge limited. Was VERY diisapointed with the Ford premium by Sony sound system.nThe sound was bassy, muddy and lacked high end and clarity. (I returned a 2007 Ford edge lease with the premimum sound system before this car and the sonic quality was outstanding!) Since this is a lease I didn't want to alter the car that much, but wanted to do something to make the sound system better. Well, after ordering two pairs of these speakers and some Metra plug and play adapters I can say that these speakers rock! The bass is tight and accurate, the highs are bright and clear and the volume is loud and crisp! They were a drop in replacement with NO cutting or drilling. This is exactly what my system needed at a VERY good price! Look around on the web, you can find these as low as $39.00 a pair refurbished (mine were) Even though they are referbs they looked and sound brand new! You would never know the diffrence! I have owned Polk in the past and you can never go wrong with them! Buy them and see!

clean highs. Bright with good imaging
Weaknesses:
no bass response. Bottom out badly at moderate volume.
Review:
Installed two of these in the front of a 2010 F-150 5X7s. I am very disappointed by the lack of bottom end in these things. I have them hooked to an Alpine 4 channel amp with 75wpc, and they bottom out terribly can't take any volume to speak of. I have checked all my wiring and I am in phase, and I have a good ground. Just no bass to speak of. The pioneers in the back have more bass than these do. Not happy with them at all.

Great sound for a great price.
Weaknesses:
None.
Review:
Put two pairs of these in my wifes 2010 Mazda3. She had the stock speakers still. After putting these in the sound of her car was amazing! I still need to get her some tweeters to replace the stock ones but the sound has been immensely improved by these speakers. If you are looking for a cheaper upgrade to your sstock spears but are afraid these speakers will not be good enough you are wrong!

Loud but clear with no distortion. Simply amazing for a starter system.
Weaknesses:
None so far.
Review:
These speakers are outstanding. I just recently installed a whole new system in my 2005 Ford Focus and they sound excellent. I have the Alpine CDE-133BT stereo to power them. If you have an alpine stereo or thinking about getting one... Buy it. Alpine has a product called the KTP-445. It is an amp that amplifies the stereo itself. It is designed expecially for alpine stereos and fits in right behind it. With this product you would be outputting about 100 watts into each speaker. With this installed, these speakers are simply amazing. There is no distortion whatsoever and with the amp installed you get a little bit more bass with these speakers. I would highly recommend this setup if you're new to the whole car audio thing. This setup is a little pricy ($650) but I guarenteed you will be satisfied with this setup.

Stong midrange's, VERY durable, no reduction in sound quality or performance after 4 years of near dalily use.
Weaknesses:
Screw holes are too close to surround, can cause micro cracks if any part of surround is affected or damaged by a screw.
Review:
Best co axil 5x7's I've heard yet. Quality materials, constuction, and stylish design. Way to go Polk, you continue to make me love you more and more every day :D

very good sound reproduction. clean, bright with tight response and great price point. an amp will make these sing raising the sound stage.
Weaknesses:
none. will report back once the other two speakers are installed.
Review:
installed two of these in my rear door speakers powered by the factory head unit. after installing the first speaker, I compared sound quality between the two. even without an amp, the sound quality is far superior to factory. installing the front speakers tomorrow. have ordered an alpine class D 4 channel amp to power the polks and an amplified sub. this should make the system scream. perfect speakers for mids and highs. subwoofer will fill in the gap for the lows. not looking forward to wiring/rewiring but will be worth it :P
