Incredible Sound/Affordable Price
Really good stuff at a really good price is where it's at. So we took really good stuff, grabbed it by the neck, held it down and force-fed it Creatine and Ginko Biloba. We mixed it up with patented Polk technologies and a reckless desire for big volume output. We created speakers with better performance, bigger volume and better value -- the db Series. db Series is classic Polk Audio: outrageous performance and durability at a price that will please your wallet.
The db675 technologies and features:
- Dynamic Balance Polymer/Mica Composite Mineral Filled Cone is stiff yet lightweight for big sound, little distortion.
- Marine Certified Polk db Series speakers are built tough to withstand the toughest environments so they are perfect for use in boats of all types. That's why Correct Craft offers Polk Audio speakers in their award-winning Nautiques ski and wakeboarding boats.
- 19mm Liquid-Cooled Silk/Polymer composite Dome Tweeter with Neodymium magnet for clear, detailed highs.
- High and low pass filters (Crossovers), deliver clearer, more accurate midrange and glare-free highs, with more natural-imaging than other speakers in this class that use single stage high-pass only filters.
- Low-mass 2-Layer 25mm Kapton Voice Coil former is lightweight for high sound output. Kapton's high melting temperature (725°F/400°C!) ensures high power handling and kick-butt reliability.
- Multi-Hole Mounting Pattern and shallow depth¾ our highest vehicle application ratio for easy drop-in installations in practically any car on the road, including yours. The db675 is specifically sized to fit European car factory locations.
- Muscular ABS Grilles, computer optimized and based on exclusive MOMO designs.
- Durable Butyl Rubber Surround won't fall apart under the stress of extreme temperatures, sunlight or time, for years of the great Polk sound.
- Pole Plate Heat Sink promotes better heat dissipation for superior power handling and reliability.
- Flat Spider for faster, longer excursion linear motion.
- Flexible Woven Leads sewn directly into Spider for greater reliability.
- Polarized Nickel Plated Terminals on PCB terminal board for simple, secure wire connections.
- Rock solid, acoustically inert Stamped Steel Basket finished in rustproof Gun Metal Gray.
- One year parts & labor warranty.

Very good high end and detail. Excellent vocal reproduction - I listen mostly to classic rock, folk, female vocals and other accustic music - so I can not judge their performance with Hip Hop or Rap.
Weaknesses:
Considering what I paid - none. Would buy again; excellent product for the money.
Review:
Very good product for the money. MUCH better than the standard Panasonic speakers that came in my Nissan - I actually have a top and bottom end now. The stock Nissan Panasonic head unit drives these speakers adequately - for my usage.

Can't really think of one in my situation.
Weaknesses:
A lot of static and crackling sounds.
Review:
I'm giving them 3 stars because they may be good speakers after all but not for a 2000 Maxima with a Bose system. They crackel like Rice Crispies. I don't think they can handle the output.
Polk Response:
Replacing speakers in "premium" branded OEM systems should be done with care. The electronics in those systems usually have built-in active equalization - meaning that the frequency response has been altered (in some cases radically) to compensate for speaker inadequacies and/or car accoustics. The system in your car has such equalization. Aftermarket speakers such as the db Series are designed to work with standard electronics. When upgrading to aftermarket speakers in OEM systems like the Bose, professional installers will also install a graphic equalizer to undo the equalization built in to the systme's electronics. When done right, changing to aftermarket speakers makes a big improvement in sound quality.

Clean mid to high range
Weaknesses:
weak bass
Review:
Very clean sound, but weak on the bottom end. My application is front and rear door mount (4 speakers total) in my 1995 Honda Odyssey. The OEM factory speakers had better bass response. I have a old set of Polk SRS 1.2 home speakers that I am very satisfied with 17 years later but these car speakers are a let down.

Excellent fit and finish for my application, along with superb sound quality. They easily sound as good as speakers costing twice as much.
Weaknesses:
Definetly need an amp to power these to their full potential. A little weak on bass, but still far better than the factory speakers they replaced.
Review:
I put these speakers in my 1994 S-10, and they were a perfect fit (door). Excellent sound quality, with just the right balance of midrange and treble for my liking. An amplifier brings these speakers to life like I never expected. A good choice that I would easily make again!

Smooth even sound, nice mid-bass response, NO distortion at any volume.
Weaknesses:
Tweeters could be a little brighter, but in my application they sound incredible.
Review:
I have a 97' Trans AM, I installed these speakers in the stock location(rear side seat panel) with dynamat, XTC baffles, and 16 ga. stinger wiring. The speakers are powered from a dxz655mp headunit from Clarion, soon to be amplified. After installtion it came to my attention that I actually had rear speakers. In Camaro and Firebirds with Bose/Monsoon stereo the rear speakers are 6.5" woofers. The addition of a tweeter and having a full range frequency in the rear added just enough fill to complete the imaging of my system. The speakers are crisp and clean on the high end, and add just enough punch to the midbass. This set is a good compliment to the db6750's I installed in my front doors. Very smooth sound with NO vibration, distortion, rattles or squeaks, partially due to dynamat and baffles, but the aluminum basket stability certainly helps. The POLK folks know what they're doing. Keep up the good work, and I'll keep spreading the word.

These speakers handle highs amazingly. The mid-bass is great too. Everything is so clear sounding.
Weaknesses:
I can't think of any.
Review:
I bought these speakers to replace factory speakers that I busted. I placed them in my rear deck, and they look awsome. The grills look really nice on them. These sounded really good without an amp, but when I got an amp they were amazing. They have great mid-bass and handle highs amazingly. If you want incredible bass from these speakers, then don't get these! I don't know why people expect to get big bass from speakers that are made for mid-bass and highs. BUY A SUB! Polk has specially made these speakers for mid-bass and highs, no other reason, and they handle these things really well. Polk also made subwoofers to handle lows, so if you want bass get one.

Excellent sound for a great price. Definitely a must-buy for the audiophile on a budget.
Weaknesses:
Slight bass crackle if you run too much bass (and I mean too much ;) ).
Review:
I just bought 2 pairs of these for my 93 Camaro Z28. These things pump. I have them hooked up to an Alpine MRV-542 controlled by a Blaupunkt Miami CD72. The highs are amazing and the bass response is stellar to say the least. Since I bought the car, I have never had to put the bass and X-bass to 0...until now. If you need good speakers and are on somewhat of a budget, these are the speakers for you.

Superb sound quality given pricing. Nice highs and mids/lows.
Weaknesses:
Hmmmm, not really. Maybe the small connectors, I advise to resold them when you connect your cables.
Review:
Wow, exactly what is mentioned a couple of times before. Without amplifier, just a 18 watts RMS headunit these babies sound amazing! Ofcourse, I don't have a big space to fill (Honda CRX Del Sol) but you don't want to put the volume to loud, or you will be deaf quite fast. I am, though still thinking about amping them, because of the even better results mentioned by others, as well as on this page as in the store were I bought them.

Excellent response - clear definition and excellent HANDLING of low frequencies. Excellent upgrade from stock speakers with aftermarket HU.
Weaknesses:
Not as loud as expected (92db sensitivity with 50watts), installation wasn't as described.
Review:
Being a sound engineer, I thoroughly A/B tested the stock speakers of my car and these polk db675's. My car is a 1994 Chevrolet Camaro without the bose system. My head unit is a Sony CDXGT-200 (50w X 4). I installed this HU about a year before these speakers. Audio quality was reduced switching from stock tape/radio to the Sony HU. I bought these polk's as a basic upgrade from my distorting paper coned speakers. I installed only one and compared the two. The Polk has significantly more definition and bass response, but the sensitivity could be higher. These were just as loud as the stock speakers and started distortion at nearly the same point. This is possibly due to the head unit. These will definitely not make your car "bump". They can lack in low frequencies at times, but mostly they are pretty good... the handle much better than the stock speakers. These are only 6.75" so you won't get a whole lot our of them, especially without the proper enclosure (cars have the worst enclosure for speakers to have). If you are looking for really good lows, then consider installing 6x9's behind the seats (some camaros/firebirds have these stock) or getting a small subwoofer (10-12") Installation was NOT as described by any website. Installation required drilling new holes and soldering connections. The Polk website says they drop in and its very easy (which it wasn't with only one person).

The Definition and Clarity of these speakers is out of this world, and the Bass is Strong & Tight. PS. If thesre is any way to use the 6 3/4" Polk's (db675) instead of the 6 1/2" Polk (db650)Speakers use the db 675. The db650's are built completely differently than the db675's and the db675s are FAR Superior.
Weaknesses:
To date I have not found any. Even with the AMP Cranked Up these speakers have more clarity, Presence and Bass that I have ever heard.
Review:
I installed 4 of the Polk db675 speakers in my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the Infinity System. After the installation they sounded better than the factory speakers, but were not as good as I expected. I went to a local Car Audio Dealer and explained the situation and he told me that the Factory Stereo & Speakers had modifications to make them sound good together, but do to the VERY limited Power available from the factory unit the Polk Speakers were not able to really work. He recomended that I install an aftermarket Indash Unit and an Aftermarket Amp. I chose the Pioneer Indash unit and the JL Audio 300-4 Amp which offered 75 watts times four channels. All I can say is WWWOOOOWWWWW!!!! I have heard many car audio systems, but I have never heard one that sounded this good. The HIGHS were very TINGLEY, the Midrange was very DEFINED, and the BASS was very STRONG & TIGHT. He told me that I would probably want to install a subwoofer to get the best BASS, but after 6 weeks listening to this setup I disagree, and unless you listen to the modern music that is nothing Thump, Thump, Thump and Bang, Bang, Bang you will probably not need a subwoofer.

high power, midrange, good built
Weaknesses:
nothing as such, using them for more than a year now, every thing seems fine
Review:
nice speakers clear can handle power good mid range good midbase good highs, slightly more than i like, treble -2 solves it base, no u need a woofer, u fill that lowest octave, but these do very well for wt they r ment to be, solid all round speakers. im using them off the head unit at the moment, and they sound really good, but they open up further when connected to the amp, cut off the lowest frequencies, and let these handle all of the upper octaves with out any distortion.

Review:
If you install these and they don't sound good, you either didn't do it right or the rest of your system needs to be upgraded. Factory units generally are not as good as a good aftermarket unit. Not a $69 Sony from Walmart. You need Kenwood, Alpine ect. Most factory stereo's do not have the power to drive these speakers for optimum sound. The more lows and highs that these speakers produce need the power to do it. You took out Thin paper stock speakers with tiny magnets, and that is why these high performance speakers need enough power to sound their best. I love them, I have had many sets of Polk Audio speakers in my cars. Every new car I get I upgrade the speakers and stereo and Polk Audio is what I get every time. I have tried many other brands in the past and these are what I like the best. So if your new Polk Audio speakers make a crackling sound it's probbably you or your stereo. Don't blame the speakers.
