Styling, ease of setup, sound quality.
Weaknesses:
A little more than I intended to pay but the sound quality and volume is in a different league from the cheaper one box setups from the competition.
Review:
I am extremely satisfied with my purchase! I have put off buying a surround system for well over 5 yrs. I made an attempt several yrs. back with individual components and got so lost in all the seemingly conflicting instruction manuals and cables I gave up. Well, after some extensive research I decided to give the DS7200 a try. What a difference. Hookups were relatively simple and straightforward with very good documentation. I was initially apprehensive the sound would adequately fill my somewhat large livingroom. My fears were quickly put to rest after playing my first dvd. "Pearl Harbor" was especially impressive, the subwoofer actually scares people sometimes. This is my first surround system and I couldn't be happier. If there is a better sounding overall system out there for a 1st timer like me I certainly didn't come across it in any of my research.

Sound quality (when it works) Polk customer service.
Weaknesses:
Hardware. DVD player performs worse than cheap no-name brand dvd players. subwoofer/amplifier combo has had to be sent back twice to have issues fixed regarding the center channel.
Review:
The sound quality is exceptional and rivals BOSE. The hardware however has been horrible. The Polk DVD player that was an optional purchase with the system is so touchy, if there is the tiniest blemish on a disc it will skip or freeze. These skips and freezes do not happen with the same disc on a cheaper no-name brand dvd player. The subwoofer/amplifier combo has been a trial to say the least. I am having to send the thing back to Polk now for the 2nd time to have an issue fixed where the center channel cuts out. The only reason that I rank this a 2 is becasue of the sound (when it works) and Polks customer service. The only r

Weaknesses:
Hardware, and Polk trouble shooting ability. Now I am being told to send everything back but the speakers for my current problem.
Review:
I agree with Jared's review. The hardware in this unit needs real help. I have also had problems with center channel, waited 4 weeks to get that fixed. Now the unit turns itself on. Yes all by itself. Isnt that great! I have had more problems then years owning it!

Great features in a small package since amp is in sub. Perfect for whole house setups. Powerful and detailed sound. Quality components throughout. A LOT of integrated system for the money.
Weaknesses:
So many options and possibilities requires learning curve.
Review:
A very, very fine sound system that is feature rich and flexible. The multi room feature with a seperate amp is ideal for sending sound to your whole house for much less $ than other dedicated systems. Adjustable sub woofer control on remote is great for easily adding or subtacting bass. The 5.1 sound sparkles with clarity, attacks with force. Customer service has guided me through problems that had nothing to do with their product as I was trouble shooting. Well done Polk.

To many bells and whistles, you need to have classes on the setting up for the best quality of sound.
Review:
Awesome sound package! It was a little pricey, but I am not unhappy with the money spent now that its up and running.

Fantastic clean sound. Lots of audio input choices. Very well built.
Weaknesses:
No HDMI inputs. This has not been a problem for me - I run HDMI directly to my TV and use the digital co-ax, TOS optical, or 5.1 channel analog audio inputs to the DS7200. Polk seems to be carried by lots of mass market stores, but the product is better than that.
Review:
This unit was purchased more than two years ago (at a phenominal sale price) in anticipation of completing a family room. Well, the project was delayed many times, but we finally completed it and got a chance to try the system out. It was well worth the wait. Speaker placement is non critical, and easy due to the small size of the satellite speakers, but the sound is clean and big. This is a well thought-out, elegant system.

"...Polk has used active equalization and filtering to optimize its speaker's performance in ways no combination of dedicated separates can hope to achieve at this price."
Home Theater, April 2002
"[With the Polk DS7200] you get a tremendously cohesoive system that avoids many of the pitfalls of poorly matched systems, especially sub/sat-and-receiver combos."
"If you close your eyes, it's fairly easy to imagine that you are listening to a the tonal balance of well-designed towers."

"The DS7200 is the easiest road I know to cinematic enjoyment...Setting up the Polk system was extremely easy and took only a few minutes. It just doesn't get any easier -- everything is clearly marked and accessible."
"I was very impressed with the Polk system's low levels of coloration and its even tonal balance... I judge the system's performance as better than any other system of this type that I've ever heard by a wide measure."
"If an easy-to-buy, easy-to-assemble, easy-to-listen-to, and even easier-to-live-with, all-in-one home theater is on your wish list, it's time to stop wishing. Get on down to your Polk Audio dealer and do some listening!"
