DSWmicroPRO 2000
1200 Watt 8-inch subwoofer.
Do Not be Fooled
Less than a cubic foot of volume. But giant-sized when it comes to the amount and impact of the deep, musical bass it can produce, the DSWmicroPRO2000 is small, but big at the same time. 1200 continuous Watts, backed by an intelligent amplifier with state-of-the-art feed forward distortion suppression technology, can do wonders with an 8-inch Dynamic Balance® woofer and 8x8-inch quadrilateral bass radiator. For mid-sized to small rooms, the DSWmicroPRO2000 matches perfectly with a compact loudspeaker system or smaller bookshelf speaker system. It blends smoothly, for a more seamless surround sound environment. And it delivers truly deep bass, the kind that you’ll feel in your bass-loving soul. Looks can be deceiving!
DSWmicroPRO 2000 Features:
1200 Watts of continuous power, 2400 Watts peak!
Digital intelligent amp technology requires less power to sound great, uses the power you give it more efficiently, and knows when to stand down (especially at low volumes or in “Standby” mode).
Smart sensing circuitry knows when to turn itself on and off.
Superior compression circuitry limits distortion at extreme volume levels.
Feed forward distortion suppression technology knows in advance how the woofer’s acoustic system will respond to the output signal from the amplifier, and stops signals that could cause distortion or damage before they even get to the driver, for the biggest possible bass response with the least distortion or risk of damage.
The Polk Room Optimizer™ (PRO) gives you four preset “room optimizers” to choose from, allowing you to program in the optimal bass and blending setting for your specific room.
The Automatic Polk Room Optimizer (AutoPRO) uses a tiny microphone (included) to take actual samples of the performance in your room and from your exact listening position, and adjust your subwoofer’s optimum performance accordingly.
Heavy duty MDF enclosures are designed and engineered for perfect volume, minutely tuned for distortion-free low frequencies, and internally braced and damped to eliminate internal standing waves and other performance-robbing resonances.
Furniture-grade piano gloss black finish matches today’s high tech TVs, furniture and speakers. (Matte finish on DSWmicroPRO1000.)
State-of-the-art Klippel distortion analysis clears the path for instantaneous dynamic response by optimizing the woofer’s motor structure, voice coil alignment and suspension for smooth, unimpeded movement over a broad spectrum of the lower frequencies, even at extreme listening levels.
Polk Audio’s proprietary, patented Dynamic Balance technology allows our engineers to design out distortion-causing driver and system resonances, so you only hear the good sounds.
More rigid under fire than any stamped steel, Polk’s cast aluminum baskets will never flex, even at extreme listening levels. Specially designed side vents encourage air circulation, keeping the voice coil cooler and more efficient.
The unique shape of the inverted dust cap provides extreme stiffness, while the lightweight cone material ensures fast response and effortless movement. Extra rigidity is achieved by attaching the drive mechanism via the ABS cone coupler.
Durable rubber surrounds allow incredible “travel,” and won’t break down even after relentless pounding.
A unique double stacked magnet structure maximizes the motor’s pulling power, enhancing its efficiency.
The dual spider design, on both the woofer and the bass radiator, ensure better linear control even at maximum volume.
Our exclusive downward-firing, quadrilateral bass radiator design has more radiating area in less space than the traditional circular design. With less space needed for ports or tubes, the DSWmicroPRO Series has smaller enclosure sizes that produce surprisingly bigger bass response.
Multiple power management options: You can turn the subwoofer on and off manually with your remote control, or let it turn itself on and off with its automatic signal sensing feature, or use the 12-volt trigger input connected to a 12-volt output of your receiver/preamp. (12-volt trigger not available on DSWmicroPRO1000 model.)
You never have to leave your seat while you adjust your subwoofer to its optimum performance level with the DSWmicroPRO remote controller.
Multiple professional connection options include professional 5-way binding posts and easily accessible LFE, line- and speaker-level inputs, and speaker level outputs, allow easy connection to virtually any system.
“Night Mode” setting temporarily lowers the sub’s intensity.
DSWmicroPRO Series subwoofers blend perfectly with systems composed of other Polk Audio loudspeakers. Build the system of your dreams, and then add the perfectly blended, deep musical low end that takes it over the top!
The unique design of our floor-coupling subwoofer feet keeps your subwoofer stable and steady even at radical volume levels, for more efficient use of power. No more “escaped washing machine” syndrome.
The Consumer Electronics Association made it easier for you to more accurately compare the performance specs of subwoofers by providing a “Loud & Low” specification. Polk was one of the first subwoofer manufacturers to comply with this specification, which helps separate the men from the boys when it comes to big bass. (We’re mostly on the men’s side of this.) Check out our CEA “Loud & Low” specifications on the specs pages of each model.
All Polk products are made using the best materials and the most advanced manufacturing techniques. They pass the industry’s most exhaustive quality tests, including drop testing, extreme signal response and UV & salt exposure testing. Polk loudspeakers are built to perform for a lifetime.

Amazingly small with amazing bass. High-quality finish.
Weaknesses:
Impossible to find in Canada. Had to order from the U.S.
Review:
I can't believe this unit... I must have listened to 20 subs this past year - trying to find something to match my LSi9s. Was either outraged at the price or disappointed with the sound. I should have known I could rely on Polk Audio. This sub may be on the high end of the price spectrum, but it's worth every penny. The 2000 rises to the challenge like nothing I've heard before. Beautifully styled, amazingly small for the bass quality and output and incredibly convenient to set up (the autoPRO feature is a breeze and really makes an audible difference). Congrats to the engineers at Polk Audio - you've done it again!

Amazing Little Box! I recently bought this subwoofer. I have it with my LSI 9 and i just want to say that the size of this sub is so small that you wont believe how your room will be shaking with so much power and presence. And design of it blows you away, a beautiful glossy that combines with the LSI bookshelves series. Simply beautiful and at the same time powerful.

Tight and controlled bass reproduction. Elegant looking, easy to place and easy to set up.
Weaknesses:
The remote control is the weak link in an otherwise excellent package. Any good learning remote will take care of that however.
Review:
I'm impressed! This sub is a powerhouse for it's size. It blends in seamlessly with my audio system. I spent the first several days rediscovering my music collection. I would recommend this series to anyone who has an appreciation for accurate low level bass reproduction. And it didn't disappoint with THX audio content either!

I wish I would of bought one sooner...!
Review:
Great Sub for the price. I was going to pick up the 1000, but decided to get the 2000 series. I would honestly say..I will never need anything louder. My theater room is about 14 x 22 and its on my 2nd story loft. I'm using Polkc CS4, and RTI8 through Onkyo THX receiver with all HDMI inputs for Blu Ray and DTV. DTS HD and Dolby HD sound is clear and deep with the set up. USing the THX EQ is a bit clearer but looses richness.

Small size is wonderful. Easy to pick up and move if needed. Superb to look at. Serves its purpose.
Weaknesses:
I wish the volume was controlled by a knob instead of the two push buttons. No big deal though.
Review:
I use this sub to fill out the low end missing with my bass shy Magnepan 1.7 speakers. They serve this purpose well and help balance out the overall top to bottom frequency/sound spectrum with the Magnepans. I am not trying to achieve "car bass" or movie theater bass. Again, they serve to fill out the bottom octave of music missing from my main speakers.

Small in size and they look good.
Weaknesses:
The microPro 2000's are the weak link in my system and "thump" when pushed--and not that hard, I might add--which shouldn't happen with a speaker in this price range or quoted 1200 watts of power. One of the speakers also has an internal rattle at a specific frequency.
Review:
I use these sub's in a Polk system comprising of RTiA9 fronts, CSiA6 center, FXiA6 side surround, and OWN5 for back surround and front highs. Everything's powered through an Onkyo TX-NR5008 AV receiver. These are all part of a home theater system in a 18' x 32' room. Unfortunately the weak link in the system has been the pair of DSW microPro 2000 sub's. Regardless of position (swapping them with each other) these sub's aren't able to handle deep base and show signs of distress when pushed? and not that hard, I might add. In order to make them happy I've had to set the OPPO blu-ray player at -10dB output to the sub's, which greatly reduces the whole reason for having sub's in the first place. If not, both sub's thump as if the speakers are pushed beyond their limit. I get the same thing with other devices (DirecTV receiver, AppleTV) as well so it's not the OPPO blu-ray player... and it doesn't do it with a pair of Polk PSW-505's, which I'll mention later. One of the sub's also has a very noticeable rattle at a specific frequency emanating from inside the cabinet (I've checked all the external connections and hardware and it's all okay). I'm going to send both sub's back to Polk to look at them and fix the problems because this shouldn't happen with sub's in this price range. In the meantime I hooked up a pair of Polk Audio PSW-505 sub's. These absolutely handle everything you can throw at them without having to make any adjustments to the OPPO's sub output. The PSW-505's are solid performers. I just wish I'd bought them with the rest of the system instead of the microPro's. Although they're no longer made you can still find them online for around $250 each, which is a far cry from what I paid for the microPro 2000's. The PSW-505's I'd give a solid 5/5, but only a 2/5 for the microPro 2000's, and that's being generous. Maybe I'm just unlucky enough to have two duds, which would be even more disappointing.
