Because Upstream is More Fun Than Mainstream
EX Series II
EX Series II full range and coaxial speakers are an ideal combination of high performance and "drop-in" flexibility. Designed to replace your factory speakers, they are exactingly engineered with high quality materials to provide state-of-the-art performance without the hassle of custom installation. That's 'cause Polk designed the EX Series II with multi-hole mounting patterns and extremely low profiles to ensure an easy fit into virtually any factory speaker location.
The EX693a features:
- Liquid Crystal Polymer driver cones for better performance and reliability
- Butyl rubber surrounds for better performance and greater reliability
- Three way design
- Ferro-magnetic fluid cooled tweeters for high SPL
- Low profile design to ensure a perfect fit in a wide variety of locations
Speakers have to fit into your car, huh? Extensive database research helped us develop a multi-hole drop-in system to fit virtually every application. Chances are, there's an EX Series II speaker that drops right into your car. No cutting. No knuckle banging. No hassle.
EXII speakers use materials that are usually found only in speakers costing much more. The butyl rubber surrounds help give them smooth midrange and extended bass response, and won't tear or crack like foam rubber surrounds found in other brands. The polymer composite cones in the midranges and woofers are moisture resistant and light -- yet extremely rigid for lightning quick response with extremely low distortion.
The Polk EX Series: They're everything you need in a car speaker. Incredible sound at an affordable price. Designed to fit. And built to last.

Tight deep bass, sharp and natural highs and mids.
Weaknesses:
They weigh alot because the magnet is massive, if you consider that a weakness!
Review:
I bought a new pair of these back in 1997 for my old camaro. They were the only thing I was pround of in my car. I had no subwoofer but didn't need one with these suckers in the back, even with 30 watts goin to each one. The bass is tight and the highs and mids are sharp. And after 3 years of the hot sun and freezing temperatures they still sound as good as the day I bought them. I highly recommend this speaker to anyone who wants some awesome sound in their car.

Superb sound from a 6X9, tight bass and VERY crisp highs. POLK has done it again.
Weaknesses:
Price is a somewhat higher than most other 6X9's, but nothing else compares. You have to be careful not to overload these, as they can blow if you do not follow POLKS recommendations!
Review:
These are the best 6X9's I have owned to date. I have had other brands, top name high end brands, and they do not compare to these! Very crisp sounding hi's and awesome bass for a 6X9. Thanks POLK for another great product!

Great Mids, supurb Bass and ear stunned HI
Weaknesses:
It is sometimes hard to fit the speakers into the standard round openings of the car. But ít's worth every effort you put in to it.
Review:
The best 6" X 9" speakers you can buy! I bought them in 1998 and still using them today. I couldn't believe the sound that came out of the speakers when I first heard them. The sound is really fantastic. I had a pair of US Blasters before the EX693a and is a world of difference.

Crisp,Clear highs.
Weaknesses:
I was driving a pair of these speakers with a 75W per channel rms amp. The woofers would blow out! Two times on different speakers!
Review:
Great looking speaker.Sounded good for a while.A little expensive.

Durable, with nice mids decent lows.
Weaknesses:
Highs are a bit too bright out of the box.
Review:
A worthy 6X9 although, somewhat bright out of the box in the tweeter department. I tamed theme to my taste with the proper film/foil caps and all should be well. These workhorses have been serving me for the past 7 years without a problem powered by an Alpine V12.
